Grex Board Meeting: September 7, 2017

* Meeting was called to order at 9 p.m. with a quorum of 3 directors
  (Dan, Kent, Chuck).  Communication was via Google Hangouts.

* Approval of Minutes from the last meeting:  Moved by Chuck that we
  approve the minutes from the June 8, 2017 meeting. All were in favor.

* Next meeting:  Will likely be in early November because we need to
  prepare for the next Board election in December.  The exact date of
  the meeting will be discussed in e-mail.

* Staff Report:  

   - Everyone has been very busy with work, so not much has happened
     on the system.  Grex has had good uptimes lately.  Our nginx web
     server has been more responsive than the previous apache server.
     Validations are still being done, as well as password resets and
     other normal staff tasks, just not always as fast as in the past.

   - Dan is working on fronttalk and backtalk replacements, written in
     the Go language.  The election software may also require an update.

   - Cooperation with MNet was briefly discussed, including the history
     of the two systems and why they might not get along.  Perhaps
     things like Mail and Helpdesk could be on a separate server and
     shared.

   - Although we are comfortable with our current arrangement in most
     respects, there was discussion of alternate hosting arrangements,
     all of which will cost something per month.  Some other public unix
     systems (such as nix.net and the Well) are on Amazon Web Services
     now.  A lot depends on if we can get the services we need, as well
     as the space and the CPU.

* Treasurer's Report:  

   - Todd arrived late, and was able to give a report before he got
     knocked off the connection.

   - Financial status:  In May 2017, we had $1844.52 PayPal balance.  Since
     then we have had 14 transactions on the PayPal account and the balance
     is now $1989.32.

   - Todd will attempt to get access to our TCF bank account either via
     someone from Grex who has permission to access it here in Michigan or
     some other way.  If we can transfer the balance there to a bank closer
     to Todd that would help.

   - Status of our corporation:  Todd sent back revised corporate updates for
     the State of Michigan for 2013 through 2016, on May 21, 2017.  These
     included the home addresses of all directors as required by the State of
     Michigan.  We have not heard anything on this matter since then.   Todd
     will call and see if everything is okay.

Did Novembers meeting take place? I'm just curious. It's now March of 2018. Is there anymore meetings planed?
