Grex Comics Item 25: Bone
Entered by pez on Thu Jul 11 21:45:51 UTC 1996:

Bone- A Great Comic in my opinion, all self contained (e.g. no crossovers)
and no psychotic bloodthirsty vigilante mutant killers. Just a fun comic. I
recommend it to everyone even the stupid, stupid rat creatures ;)

Hey, what do you know... we argee on something comic book related. Bone is
one of the best comics EVER! It's the light in the month that frees me of the
normal superhero humdrum. the art, the story... it's great. Of course, I
wouldn't have gotten in to it if it wasn't for Image... maybe Image doesn't
suck after all.

Bone is only with Image because Jeff Smith wanted to be with a secure company
after seeing all the small companies that had gone kerput..

But.. anyway.. i do agree: Bone is great!! :)

I started reading it after #11 came out (yeah, I missed the first printing
of the Great Cow Race). I've managed to get several other people hooked
on it. I wouldn't have been able to do so if it weren't such an accessible
and well-done comic. Now I buy the TPBs, the hardcovers, the Image
reprints... I used to buy all the pins and T-shirts too, but I'm a few
months behind. =)

As I said in Images News, Jeff Smith is taking Bone back to Cartoon Books.
Of course, I'm only up to issue #14 in the reprints.

what was the last issue you read? It's a suprize that a bone-head like you
would stop reading it.

Jeff Smith is having trouble recovering from eye surgery, so issue #27 will
come out later then planned.

#19 of 24 by mziemba on Fri Jul 25 15:56:21 1997:

Bone trade #4 is out!

#20 of 24 by mziemba on Sat Aug 23 09:59:35 1997:

_Bone_ trade #4, is, indeed, out, contrary to some strange denials I have
heard. Had a look at it, the other day, with my own two hands...

I really wish I had the time to bone up on Bone. (pun intended) :)

#22 of 24 by pez on Sat Jan 10 16:24:43 1998:

i love Bone. again.. hard for me to come by..
that sounded disgusting..

#23 of 24 by carson on Sun Jan 11 03:52:53 1998:

(many of the larger book retailers have begun carrying the _Bone_ TPBs,
including Borders. the revised design gives the TPBs the feel of a
complete story, rather than the collection of possibly unrelated
issues.)

(the reprinting is over, so it's just new issues from here until further
notice. next issue will see the end of the Rockjaw storyline.)

Has anyone checked out Jeff Smith's new book? RASL? Supposed to be a good
sci-fi story. I'll try and find a copy.
