Grex Comics Item 12: The long-awaited return of Usagi Yojimbo!

Usagi Yojimbo is returning to comics!

After Mirage put their publishing division on hiatus (the last Mirage
issue of _TMNT_ was released this week; Erik Larsen's Highbrow Studios
has picked up the license and will begin the series at Image soon),
the samurai rabbit was once again left to wander. For now, Usagi has
found a home at Dark Horse Comics.

The first series from DH will be the third _Space Usagi_ series. This
three-issue series focuses on Lord Kiyoshi's voyage to recover his
clan's lost treasure. The first issue shipped this week.

Following the completion of the _Space Usagi_ series comes a three-
issue series featuring the original Usagi Yojimbo. There's a 
preview of it on Dark Horse's web site; the cover for the first
issue looks GREAT. And, of course, the interior is up to par.
Stan Sakai is probably one of the most underrated cartoonists in
the business today.

So what are you waiting for? Go pick up a copy of _Usagi_ today!

(there have been a couple of Usagi TPBs lately. I believe Fantagraphics 
has finally finished their run of Usagi with the publishing of Volume 7. 
Dark Horse has also published a TPB reprinting the first couple of 
stories from the Mirage run [TMNT fans: the Turtles appear in the first 
story arc / non-TMNT fans: there's PLENTY else to ogle].)

As I understand it.. the Turtles comics at Image are increasingly late every 
"month" .. i'd buy them if i could find 'em..
