Grex Books Item 92: What Trixie Belden book did you like best?
Entered by stacie on Sun Jul 9 19:31:56 UTC 2000:

What Trxie Belden book was the best?

I would vote for Mystery of the Mansion, Red Trailer Mystery and Mystery on
Cobbett's Island. Ok, so I can't pick one! :P

It has been so long. I find that even though I was all about reading
Trixie Belden. I cant remember any of the titles. Heh. There was one
that had a sailboat on the cover that I especially liked. Didnt Honey
have a sailboat or something? Hmm I only remember weird little details
about those books. I would probably like to re-read them but they are
out of print! Can you believe it!?! Out of print. Dang.

The one all about sailing is Cobbet's Island. They visit Cobbett's island
and do a ton of sailing and learning how to sail. :)

They would take the one series with value and take it out of print. I have
most of them but some are impossible to find without getting into a high-price
bidding war on eBay. :(

Yeah. I was bummed when I found that out. I was looking for a gift for a
little girl so I figured, "Trixie Belden" but there were none to be had.
It is a crying shame.

I never realized until I tried to buy them as an adult that the series was
started in the 50s and then in the 80s. Maybe it will start up again. :)

Well, I would buy them, that's for sure.

hardly. just bad

Nah, your grex postings are funny and good writing. A book would just be a
string of those only with all that "perversion" left out. *chackle*

#11 of 21 by slynne on Mon Jul 10 02:07:14 2000:

haha, I write on grex the way I speak. I can tell a good story in person but
my stories get flat when I write them down.

#12 of 21 by stacie on Mon Jul 10 02:08:37 2000:

Okay, you can tell the story of the Mystery of Kayalynne and I will edit it
for you. Then we will demand the reprinting of Trixie Belden!

#13 of 21 by slynne on Mon Jul 10 02:40:21 2000:

Fine. :) I'll have to dig out my Thesaurus to write the dialog for Trixie's
brother. Maybe I will have to get an Irish Setter (for research).

Of course. Good old Mart. And you will need to go kayaking in many different
locations so you can find the best place for the story to take place. ;)

#15 of 21 by slynne on Mon Jul 10 02:52:04 2000:

Yes, yes. I will have to do lots of research

#16 of 21 by stacie on Mon Jul 10 02:55:09 2000:

Okay. Don't foget that you will need a lot of scrumptious homemade pies and
cookies and stuff for proper atmosphere. Mart likes to eat, you know. :)

oh right. And I will have to live like a millionare to get Honey's part right

(What is "chackle" supposed to mean?)

#19 of 21 by stacie on Mon Jul 10 15:10:48 2000:

It is an evil laugh. Like cackle but not really evil. Just playful evil. :)

#20 of 21 by katie on Mon Jul 10 15:36:57 2000:

Oh. Like 'chuckle' and 'cackle' spliced together.
