I can't get my amiga to work with it properly, either. I have a 500. Anybody want to help me too?
I found a program called MultiLink that, if you have a Unix shell account somewhere, allows you to set up AmigaMosaic without using AmiTCP. Although I haven't got it running yet a frined of mine set it up on his machine and it seems to work well. I'll have to track down where I got it from, then I'll let you know.
Yes, please do let us know where to get multilink! Our family is just getting started on this WWW adventure and that would help.
I've got AmiTCP/IP running on my A1200 just fine. I dont know if I did anything special--just followed the directions. For me the only program that doesn't work is finger. I never get to see the response. ,
Regarding Multi-Link (see Res# 2 above) I found it on a local bulliten board, the Commador Club, but now I've blanked on the phone number, so I'll have to get back to you on that.
OK I found it. I'll send it off to the 3 people above who mentioned interest in it. If anyone else wants it let me know. If there's enough demand I'll put it in a file here.
re: #6 Mattew, please send my the info on Multi-Link. I'm trying to set up amoasic too. Thank you.
I'm afraid I've been out of touch on info regarding Multi-Link. I still have it but hte last time I tried getting it to interested people all anyone got was garbled text. I will endeavor to get a copy of it in some file here that people can pull it from at their leisure, it just may take me a couple of weeks. In the meanwhile I originally got it off the Commodor Club BBS. I'll post the phone number as soon as I can pull it off my mchine at home.
Whew ! I'm back. I'll try to get a copy of MultiLink into a directory anyone can access, but in the meanwhile the phone # for Commodor CLub BBS (where I found it in the first place) is 453-4435. I'll be back !
OK, try looking in /home/matthew/temp. The file is called mlink1.25.lha. Let me know if something goes wrong.
