While out doing stuff yesterday, I came upon some road construction on the Huron Pkwy bridge. Because of the work, lanes were reduced to one going in each direction from Fuller Rd to Huron River Dr. Not a very long stretch but the traffic was backed up at the traffic signals at each end. So while sitting there, I thought it might be a good idea to post construction-work going on in the area that the rest of us may or may not be aware of yet--so that we can plan our trips accordingly.

Also while I was out yesterday, I was in the area where they're doing the work on Platt and Packard. The previous few times when I left the subdivision on the northwest side of that intersection, the traffic was backed up considerably during the afternoon rush hour [not surprisingly]. Though when I was there around the same time yesterday, there was no problem whatsoever [I timed it right, I guess, since I had less of a wait than I usually do in normal situations at that intersection at any time of day. For those of you that need to travel on Whitaker Rd [located south of 94], they're doing work on a bridge, so there's a detour from Textile Rd to a side street [I forget the name but its maybe 1/2 mile off of Textile] and then a mile down to Merrit Rd and then back to southbound Textile. So that does add a few minutes to my trip just about any time I have to go anywhere [I rarely have to go further south on Textile from where I live].
Hmm, there must not be too much else going on, construction-wise, in the area right now. Cool!
Heh. Well, it looks like there is *about* to be some construction on Michigan Ave in Ypsilanti near Huron st. There are orange barrels on the side of the road but as of this morning, nothing has started yet and both lanes are open in each direction
Carpenter south of the bridge over I-94 is being widened. I can't tell you the status of that, though, as we are avoiding it.
Yeah, that intersection was a mess last time I went through there [Carpenter and I think it was maybe Michigan Ave?] I'm wondering what they're going to do on Michigan and Huron St, though. Huron Pkwy was backed up going south at Fuller/Geddes due to that construction at rush hour today [I bet it was north bound, too]. I finally decided to take Geddes to the expressway to Washtenaw instead. That took a little while, too, though. But that time a day, it wouldn've taken awhile any way I went.
Another alternative route is Geddes all the way to Forest. Saves a lot of time at rush hour.
There is contruction on East bound Washtenaw from Carpenter down past Spice Tree Apartments (as far as I went to pick up Staci yesterday). They are, again, redoing the Huron Parkway bridge and the interface between Huron Parkway and Geddes (West of Huron). WCC is redoing its main entrance due to the new Health and Fitness Center right across the street, involving shifting and narrowning the entrance and installing a traffic light.
It looks like they're going to be some kind of work on at least the westbound I94/Huron St exit in Ypsi. On the exit ramp, one of the southbound HuronSt lanes has been closed for maybe a week or so now, though there hasn't been any work there started yet. But there does seem to be a few more pieces of machinery sitting on the northeast corner of the intersection. And they're putting a couple much needed stop signs at 2 much needed intersections on the backroads near where I live.
