Africa has Mt. Kiliminjuaro(sp?). Doesn't a volcano erupt in
Lion King. Must leave Australia volcano less and glacier less.

the "great lakes" region of Africa has a fair amount of volcanic activity,
and although they may really wish they didn't, several of the Andean nations
in South America have volcanoes which have had disastrous eruptions in
recent years. Australia seems like the only remaining choice..

There is volcanic activity along the great rift in Africa, through Ethiopia,
and along the Red Sea (I think).
Kilimanjaro.

It appeared the answer I was looking for was Australia. The questioner
seems to have meant "mainland Australia". There are volcanos in New
Zealand and Tonga, according to information at
http://www.geo.mtu.edu/volcanoes/world.html, which I would consider to
be part of continental Australia.

One more trivia question:
How much did the lifeboat oars for the original Titanic cost?

(There is a weird trivia contest going on at work, you see.)

Is there any utility on Grex that will allow you to punch in an IP # and
find out which domain it goes to?

How many Ford Pintos are registered in Michigan? in California?
Is there an easy web lookup for registry by model?

Wow, thanks all!

Scott in #67 is probably correct -- I may well be trying to remind
myself that I really ought to make that dentist appointment one of these
days.

Brighn, I agree with you that one ought to find one's own meaning in
these things, and being *told* what something symbolizes is silly. It's
why I got so frustrated with high school English classes, for example.
At the same time, I was fairly certain that I'd read somewehre that
there *was* some sort of symbolism traditionally ascribed to teeth, and
I wanted to know what that was. At any rate, thanks (to brighn and
others) for the fascinating insights. The dreams-as-puns thing
particularly made me think.

I'm not sure whether I should laugh or blush at #64... ;)

FWIW, I haven't dreamed about teeth since bringing it up. I can't
remember what I dreamed about last night, actually, which is rare.

Where can I find a website that has a questionnaire that tells you
where you lean politically? You know, asks what issues are important
and all. I did a search, but was not sure which words to do a search
with. I didn't get the websites I wanted.

Yes, I know where I stand on issues, but I'd like to find which parties
are most in line with my views. :)

http://www.govote.com (They may have changed their name to SelectSmart
or something) They have an online quiz thingy that tells you not only
who has similar beliefs, but also classifies your political opinions
(I'm a left-leaning libertarian for example)

Does anyone have a recipe for Snickerdoodle cookies? I'm told
it can be found in very old Betty Crocker or Good Housekeeping
cookbooks. I have neither.

I have an excellent one, which I will type in shortly. Remind me if I don't do
it in a day or two.

I keep seeing signs around town that have the Pedestrian Crossing symbol then
NO VOUCHERS next to it. What are they talking about?

response 111 of 365: Mark Unseen   Oct 9 06:29 UTC 2000

No vouchers would have to do with private school tuition vouchers. I have
no idea what the pedestrian symbol would mean there.

Perhaps by "pedestrian crossing" you mean "school zone", the one with
two semi-stick people (kids) strolling along? That would make sense
when paired with vouchers.
