He really really sucked last night. He is a great singer, but is
limited to certain genres.

Ok, I wasn't so suprised that they didn't vote anyone off because of
the Corey Clark thing. However I was SHOCKED at the bottom three.
I don't think Trenyce should have been in there at all, imho

hahahahahaahaha
Ok here's the scoop.
Bottom three: Kimberly Locke, Trenyce, Carmen
Kimberly Locke was then sent back to her seat, so it was up to Trenyce
and Carmen. So they both sang their song again, and after the
commercial at the very end of the show, they said because of the Corey
Clarke thing, everyone was safe this week and no one was voted off but
next week the voting scores would be added to this weeks and there
would be someone voted off this week.
I think Trenyce is one of the best up there, so I am in shock about
that.
When they asked the judges whether or not they agreed with the bottom
three, none of them did, especially Simon. He said "I think there is
someone up there sitting on the couch that should be in the bottom
three and he know's who he is." I think he was talking about JOsh, but
Ricky was quite nervous about it.
When they announced they weren't voting anyone off, Simon looked quite
suprsised, but I don't know if that was scripted or not.

the key words are probably "actively" and "on a regular basis."
I can't watch it for longer than about 30 seconds now.. some are
genuinely skilled, but I'd rather skip the drama. Last time Julie had
it on.. who was Mr. Fro? sorry, I totally disagreed with her
assessment of his performance of EW&F's "Let's Groove Tonight."
On that note, I have to admit that even "Star Search" was a bit of a
disappointment.. on the few shows I saw, you could really see that the
judges clearly had obvious biases sometimes, with wildly differing
scores.

Sapna, I just said I really don't watch the show. I saw enough bad
attitudes, immaturity, and what not that I just tuned out. If this
unprofessionalism somehow makes good television, whatever. I
understand Simon is there to provide more dramatic tension, and he's
right-- some of these kids really are BAD-- but I find his personality
grating at times.
The opinion I didn't agree with? That would be Paula Abdul. (Some
people should not sing falsetto.) I don't think highly of her singing-
- she's fine, but I wouldn't say she's super superb-- but I would say
she's a hell of a dancer. I wouldn't mind hiring her as my
choreographer, if I could afford the fees.
(Now I do have to admit they might have better judges than they do on
Star Search. Then again, the Idol judges might have it a slight
easier-- they give subjective comments, while the Star Search judges
have to give numeric ratings.)

Ms. Abdul might be there to take the edges of Simon's bluntness-- I
don't know.
Although the kids might not remember this star, I think they should
add Taylor Dayne to the panel. Julie tells me she was classically
trained, and I think that adds depth to her R&B-tinged career. Having
had voice lessons myself, I think a classically trained artist is
better able to judge clarity, projection, and intonation. I
understand that vocal artists need to have a unique sound to carve out
a niche, but they really need to learn these basics. I can't count
the number of times I've heard crazy chicks on the radio or whatnot
trying to copy the current R&B vocal gymnastics but have zero skills
in these three basic areas.
Think about it-- although sound engineers can sculpt your voice to
sound fab in the studio, and image consultants can make you look super
on stage, I don't think artists will last long if they don't have some
honest skill (as well as some social relevance). Money is made
primarily in the concert venues-- studio and video work is a thinly
sliced pie.

Well, as usual, I think Rueben was the best. I completely disagree
with Simon on Trenyce. I still think her, Rueben and Clay are the best.
However, Kimberly Locke keeps getting better and Josh was quite good
last night. If I had to guess, I would say Carmen is outta there this
week. Because they are combining it with last weeks score, I"m not
sure really what is going to happen.

I really liked Josh's song, it really fit his voice.
I agree with you about Kimberly, though, as much as I like her too.
She's just got something about her.

Well, I have to say I was a bit suprised but not upset that Ricky got
voted out. Him, Kimberly Locke and Kimberly Caldwell were in the
bottom three.
I really think Carmen or Josh should get voted out soon.

One more thing. My hubby thinks the reason Josh didn't get in the
bottom three last week is because he's getting the military sympathy
vote. :)
