I have *always* had problems dialing in, although less lately. But I've had
time where I've had to redial 8+ times to connect just once.

(I never have problems with the -3000 either. now, when I call 489-2222,
it's a different story.)

Re 71: I should hope that proper foreplay could reconfigure a 3 1/2 inch
floppy to perform as a 7 inch hard drive.

Re 78: While there should be no problem with this UPdate, I have run into
problems in the past with softeware and hardware conflicts. Depending on how
"user friendly" the hardware is, an increase in RAM performance coupled with
speed may be noted.

I'm dialed in again right now, no problems.
I should probably check the terminal server stats.

IWLTA that I now browse the items in the Agora and forget 80% of the items
that have been created since I logged out. Then I can read all new without
wasting time on ten or so last item titles.

I found a system problem:
16 newresponse items and 182 brandnew items
grr.
Grex appears to be off the net to some locations as the staff have not
numbered out of their old address space yet. Problems such as this
will persist until they renumber.

I cannot telnet or use Backtalk to access Grex. It looks like the net
connection is down. Thank god for modems ;)

If the net connection is down, why can I still send emails (though there is
a couple of minutes wait)? Where do they go, and why so slowly?

They go into a pot, to be sent (one hopes) when the net connection
comes back up.
