Re 72. My sentiments exactly and I'm sure many other voters
would agree. Four strong candidates. A hard choice *as
often happens in Grex elections*.

Looks like the person listed last got "shafted" :-) again. But look at the
vote counts from top to bottom...

Um, the vote program randomizes the order in which the candidates
are displayed, each time it is run. I implemented that specifically
to neutralize any bias due to order of listing.

Um, out of blatant curiousity, why can I Backtalk in, when I cannot dial in or
telnet in? Is it hooked up to something different?
(i've been really grumpy for a little while, since I've not been able to get
in....)

telnetd and the dial-ups would be controlled by inetd, while backtalk is
controlled by httpd, so if inetd dies backtalk (and ssh) will still work,
while telnet, finger, and so forth won't.
It looks like you posted that about an hour ago. Telnetting in works now,
so I'm assuming that if there was a problem that couldn't fix itself somebody
else must have fixed it in the mean time.

Nope. Dialins are not working. Grace experienced this from home last night,
& I just tested it. My modem's been connected to the termserver for some 13
or 14 minutes now, without any prompt.

GRoovy (the terminal server) seems to be down. I'll check it out around 12:30
or so.

I'm going into withdrawl, man!!!!
Actually, I'm just freakin' out because I'm expecting a bunch of email
yesterday, and then I couldn't access it. So I'm now scared of my email box.

Re: #80 - Oops, my bad, seems like I recall that now. I guess I assumed the
order was fixed, because that was - coincidentally, it would seem - the same
order presented to me when I voted.

I would guess that the listing in #74 was *intended* to be in order of votes
received. That's *only* a guess, mind you.

The new winter'00/01 agora is open for business, but my usual band of
cfadm-shadows seem not to have noticed - the coveted #1 position is
still open as i type these words!
