IBB I swear that all my catching up work is really putting me behind... what
is the use of working 2 to 3 hours extra everyday so catch up if I still
haven't caught up! ARGH!

Feeling snowed in and crabby, although I did get a way cool package in the
mail today (see happy item). Alas, on the bummer side, it was too big for my
desk at work, and I had to take it home, where my son has been eyeing it with
very envious eyes!

(I had the concept of lake-effect snow explained to me. in order to get
the REALLY DEEP snow I keep fantasizing about, I have to move about ten
miles west.) :(

I got yelled at today at work. Why not, it's not like they are pulling for
me anyway, and it's not like I got here at 7am today, nor that I stay until
7 on Wednesdays. Nope. I got iced into my father's place on Sunday and
couldn't get the car open, and then on Monday they decided that since my cel
phone "wasn't working" although I had no problems, I was AWOL. (tried
calling, but no one there, left brief voice mail, they dont' care) So when
patients are calling my line, which they are not supposed to do anyway (see
voicemail instructions left by my boss) I'm in trouble. And today they were
bad mouthing my boss because she's on vacation for 2 weeks. I've been the
whipping girl for weeks with those people because I sit on the opposite side
of the medical complex in another building, so now they are going to make
"periodic" stops to see where I am. And I have to leave temp messages on my
voice mail if I have to go to the bathroom or to get lunch. The message my
boss made up won't do.
Boy this modivates me to be here. For another 10.5 hours.

I like my boss. IE, I like the Doctor whom I work for directly. She gets
a bum rap too, but it's hospital/teaching hospital politics. And they pay
me.

Start looking for a new job now, Mary. It really sounds like this one is
not suiting you well at all.

that's the funny part. I enjoy my boss, and I enjoy her work and what she
does. However, it seems that any assistant she has is resented because they
are in another building, and don't have the same job duties. I haven't a clue
what to do. I've got some thinking to do.

I've had a crappy couple of days at work, myself. Nothing serious, I hope,
but this had better not be the beginning of a trend.

Well, my bosses dad died this evening. We were expecting it, but it's still
hard, right at the holidays and all. This also leaves us completely staffless
for the weekend, as half the staff is related to her.

Barely any snow.
I got a B in a class I thought for sure I'd get an A in.
My best friend got engaged last night... I am SO happy for her. Please
don't get me wrong. She deserves all the happiness in the world. Just
makes me wonder if I'll ever have my turn. I hung out with her and
another friend in high school, and now I am the last in line to get
married, if at all. Bittersweet, I guess.

Don't worry, I actually feel the same way. But to cheer you up see a movie
called GOOSED with Jennifer Tilley. It is silly, but cute and might cheer
ya up.
