I just realised that although I've been very good about thanking folks
that have shown support IRL, I hadn't yet done so here. All of your
responses, in this item since its beginning and in other places around
grex, have helped me tremendously with this. Thank you all. Grex can
sometimes be a difficult place for me to hang out, but it's instances
like this that remind me of the value of its potential collective
heart. For these reasons, I'm making a small donation to Grex this
month, as a thank you, and in Pepper's honor.

It's still very hard to deal with the loss, but definitely the good
memories are beginning to eclipse the bad ones.

I'm very upset that now this conference has glaring empty holes in the
discussion. I suppose I'll learn to deal, but I'll never understand why.

Thought it's been several months, micklpkl, I'm sorry to read about
Pepper.

Ric (Ricochet - Bombay, American Shorthair mix) saw the v. e. t.
yesterday for an ear/ur infection. He'll be fine, once he stops hating
me for eardrops, eyedrops, and pills.
The good thing is that the vet was very pleased with his weight (13.5
lbs, but he's so cobby that he *looks* fat) and his general health. She
said that if she hadn't read his chart first, her exam would have lead
her to believe he was around seven years old. Yay! He'll be twelve in
September.
