I'm still recovering from a hella wicked bout of food poisoning. We
now believe that the source was a plate of pastry desserts.

Barbara was hosting a plate-to-pass card game with her friends. and we
strongly suspect that the desserts were left-overs from some christmas
party from one of the women's work. Since the card game was Saturday,
any office party would have been at least a day before, with this
stuff sitting out unrefridgerated at least part of the time, with no
way for me to know. I usually have a cast-iron digestive system, but
this hit me hard.

Be warned, because you too may be inflicted with left-over-itis.

Thanks Wendy. :)

I really really hate being this sick. Waking up just to cough is no
fun. My chest is horribly congested (and my sinus are in stiff
competition with the lungs...) but other than that I don't really
*feel* sick, no fever, no discombobulated feeling, no aches (other than
my back being sore from all the damned coughing).

And now it's snowing.

Started off moving day by jumpstarting my motorcycle so I could drive it
up the ramp into the truck. Well, it *almost* worked.

The bike stalled out at the top of the ramp, and the ramp was kind of
narrow, and the bike fell off the ramp, with me on it. Fortunately, I
didn't land under it, but in my highly adrenalized response and attempt
to right the bike again (it looks *really* sad upside-down) I think I
strained every muscle in my body.

Anyway, I finished the move all in one day (Monday) from a second floor
apartment to a second floor apartment. All by myself. I even got the
truck back at around midnight, which got me to the gas station to refill
the tank just before the station closed.

So, for the last two days, I have been nearly completely incapacitated,
with muscles I didn't know I had screaming in protest of their abuse.
I've taken more pain relievers in two days than at any time since my last
kidney stone, and my new apartment is a shambles, with every item still
forlornly sitting exactly where it was dumped when I stumbled in with it.

Today only hurts a little. So far...

(Anne - sounds like what I had. I *felt* fine, but my sinuses and lungs felt
so painful and crappy that it affected my mood. Try Robitussin gelcaps...they
work wonders on me).

I'm tired...dead tired...so tired it hurts.

Oh Other, my DEEPEST sympathies. I know how you feel, or rather I did. I
am no in post-moving sleepyness, the desire to do nothing but rest up from
moving and the stress of moving, but I still have to work, so there has been
nothing accomplished in the past almost week. Blah.

But my mother is coming over tonite, and perhaps she can help me make a
mockery of my house by shifting piles of boxes and I might even get a little
Christmas decorating done. Now just to get the dead fish out of the tank
without the choir of fuzzy angels wanting to eat it. Icky cats, I swear.

(Sarah I have Robitussin liquid... didn't see any gelcaps, but the
liquid should work with the other stuff I have. <grins>)

I got shot... (for the flu), and now my arm hurts, more than likely cos it
gets shot on Tuesday mornings usually and now I do that on a Thursday too!
My arm hates me now.

Ex-roommate called. It was odd. Oh My God. He wanted to tell me he had some
of my mail, ask how I was doing, etc. Wanted to know if I had some of his
things. (Vampire books, for those in the know, I told you he'd ask) I have
a new cel phone, and I gave him that number to contact me. It has voice mail.
no biggie. Feeling very freaked out. He still doesn't have my home phone
or home address, but he did know where I worked. God help me. I don't know
how to handle this.

response 567 of 691: Mark Unseen   Dec 7 21:25 UTC 2000

Ummm...probably shouldn't have given him your phone number. As for work, he
can't get in without authorization, right? I remember having an M-Card to
get into the Med Center when I worked there.

(doesn't Michigan have one of those neato-keeno anti-stalking laws still, or
was it overturned?)

(speaking of which, I need to call my ex.)

response 569 of 691: Mark Unseen   Dec 7 21:30 UTC 2000

No, there is no need for an M-Card between 6am to 6pm here at the hosp. And
he's not stalking me. As for my phone number, my cel isn't listed, and he
can't get the address off it. Plus it has called ID so I can choose to ignore
it and let it go to voice mail. I just wasn't expecting this. Every time
I am prepared, the opposite happens and kicks me. However, I should be
putting up my christmas tree today and getting the final things in the new
place moved INTO place. SO that should help.

Just caught me very off guard. And didn't help my headache.

You gave him your phone number and didn't think he'd call to finalize moving

response 571 of 691: Mark Unseen   Dec 7 21:46 UTC 2000

No Sarah, he new where she worked and called her at work today and THEN
she gave him the cel phone number. MAke more sense now?

Snow... I hate snow... I live in the wrong state.

I also hate this achey chest (lungs = congested, back muscles= sore
from coughing- for those that haven't been paying attention to my
whining.) I'm not a 'good' sick person... I whine... a lot.

A nice, sordid, cruel breakup. Right before the holidays. I love
getting accused of thinking only of myself, then be accused of it again
when I'm just trying to defend myself. I needed this distraction right
as I have a 20 page paper to work on. I hate everyone. Dating is hell.

Work today was not fun. I got to deal with client who was so impatient
to get her computer fixed, she sicced her mom and the alumni association
on us. She ended up being a nice person (at least while I was there)
but I don't like having the Alumni Association telling me how quickly I
need to do my job.

Also, I have to write a paper tonight, and my roommate is asleep, so I
can't turn on the lights.

The home phone has gone from having a dial tone intermittently, to
total silence. No grexing from home until Ameritech fixes it.
Friday, if we're lucky.
