I'm either in pie or reading a conference item when this has happened. I do
ctrl-Z out and then attempt to respond. There have been times when the lag
was so bad they still left before I got to them. Though I ususally use write
to respond. I'll try chat and see how that speeds up my response times.

Grex's connection is so overloaded that there are times when it's pretty much
unusable coming from anywhere.

I'm coming in rom the U of M. Sometimes my offices connection gets bogged but
usually Grex is flooded with folks. This is the first night (morning ?) I've
been on in quite some time with less than 65 or so users.

Re 41/42, I think I once had two help requests at the same time.
I hadn't yet responded to the first, when the second came in.
Maybe the routing logic only considers a helper busy if they're
currently writing to someone, not if they've got a help request
pending.

At least a couple of the ones I took just wanted to chat. I try to
remember to direct them to party. I wonder how many of the (- helpees
were legitamate helpees.
I'm posting this via backtalk. I gotta remember to telnet to grex when
I'm on the net if I have time for some helping. I wonder if there will
be a day when we'll want help-seekers to contact us when we're in
backtalk.
