Although I try to minimize my misbehavior, it would be a significant error
to believe that I am never obnoxious.

Yes, what resp:50 read. I generally don't see being obnoxious as serving
any sort of purpose. However, not everything always has to serve a purpose.

THat's nice of you to include me, Sindi. I don't *think* I'm obnoxious, but
I'm not sure. I'll add charcat and slynne to your list. But, who one finds
obnoxious is certainly a matter of taste.

Re resp:1: Michael Jackson doesn't represent anything but the sad
results of too much money meeting body dysmorphic disorder.
Re resp:28: Your one-note responses seem just as annoying as the twit's
comments, to me. It's like a playground fight. "Jerk!" 'I know you
are, but what am I?' "A jerk!" 'I know you are but what am I?' "A
jerk!"...

bhoward is suddenly conflicted whether to risk membership in Sindi's
list by responding to #54.

but consider what you'd really like to say. ;-)

Slynne even wrote a nice parody of my posting. Most of these non-obnoxious
posters have also been really helpful in various ways to grex and to me
personally (such as getting .procmail to work, teaching me how to use Windows,
fixing the modems, setting up Pine to read URLs, etc.) and obviously have
better things to do with their time than annoy people.

Read Steven Pinker's book THE LANGUAGE INSTINCT and wonder just who you should
be annoyed at, slynne.
I'm serious.

whoa!
i just realized i feel bad for slynne?!
because, uh, like a million years ago, she offered to drive me from like
windsor or some shit to some silly m-net gathering that i never ended up going
to?!
and, uh, so, uh, at the time, it was a million years ago, like, uh, before
everyone was like, WHOA< POLYTARP IS A GRADE A WEIRDO< and i was, uh, REVILED
AND HATED AND CURSED AND JUNK.
so, uh, now she probably thinks something like, WHOA< JEEZ< AM I EVER GLAD
I DIDN"T LET THAT GUY INTO MY CAR WITH ME< HE"S SCARY AND JUNK< even though
in real life i'm generally pretty harmless and i'm sure she could beat me up
ina fist fight, not that i'm in the habit of getting into fist fights or could
imagine that i'd ever get into a fist fight with slynne in a million years!
ANYWAY< SLYNNE< I DON"T HAVE ANYTHING AGAINST YOU AND I HOPE YOU"RE NOT AFRAID
OF ME OR ANYTHING> :(

only because I am *that* obnoxious. ;)

Here's a twist on the obnoxiousness problem: According to the new
"Violence Against Women and Department of Justice Reauthorization Act",
it is now illegal for a person to "utilize...the Internet... without
disclosing his identity and with intent to **annoy**, abuse, threaten,
or harass any person...who receives the communications". Could mean two
years in prison.
