It's probably a good thing that birthday list is opt-in, not opt-out.
Some folks might not want their birthdays, or their presence on Grex,
publicized in the motd. Besides, in view of the fact that people can
edit their .plan files in arbitrary ways, culling birthdays from .plan's
poses some technical problems.

Anyway, now you know how to get on the birthday list, and how to view
your birthday entry.

Don't be too sure of that last. Grex is as susceptible to haunting as
anyplace else.

re #57, 58 - are you saying that Grex is like the Hotel California? You
can check out any time you like, but you can never leave? ;)

The vote program is now open for business in the 2003 Grex Board of
Directors election.

To run it from a tty connection (dialup/telnet/ssh), type vote at
a Unix shell prompt or !vote from just about any other prompt.

Or you can access the voting facility on the web at the URL
http://cyberspace.org/cgi-bin/pw/voting-booth

The vote program allows you to view the list of candidates and their
campaign statements, and to cast a ballot. If you do the latter and
later change your mind about whom you want to vote for, simply run
the program again and cast a new ballot. Your new votes replace any
previous one.

Any Grex user can cast a ballot, but only the votes of eligible voting
members will be counted in determining the outcome of the election.

Discussion on the election and the candidates can be found in the
Coop conference (conf:coop).

Polls close at the end of the day (EST) on December 15.

I'm afraid you must...at least for a little longer.

aruba has to confirm the official membership list.

remmers and davel then have to conduct independent counts of the votes.
