My son threw out his shoulder after signing for the Air force, and had
to have surgery to repair it. I did not stop him from enlisting, but
it delayed it by about 6 months.

About writing representatives, up there...I've heard that, ever since
the anthrax scare, mail to reps' offices in Washington is often delayed
for weeks. If you're writing about something timely, either write
their home office in your state/district, or use some form of
electronic communication.
