when is there going to be another board/staff meeting to discuss options right
now, decide where we're going to move, and talk about fundraising if we have
time?

You could always move GREX to my house, just put in the phone lines and setup
the system here, in Lincoln Park, no charge, all I ask is that you show me
how to use the system..... I'm quite serious, and if you need to send me
mail... do it here privately...

I think we've all concurred that we don't want to move the system
out of Ann Arbor. We've already rejected Ypsilanti as a possible
location, since we would lose several users who would no longer be
a local call away from us. Lincoln Park wouldn't be local to
*anyone* who currently uses Grex. Many thanks for the offer, though!

to you.

Thanks for the offer, chaz. We've already had a couple of staffers volunteer
temporary space. Beyond that, we've already decided that Grex can't live in
somebody's home long term, since taht would be a control problem.

No problem, scot, Like I said, if the land lord of your current building kicks
you out..... or the city tells youto hit the road, my house is open....
just remember that..... no rent, nothing, just my desk....

Re: 356:
Ok, but Grex comes with it's *own* desk, 15 phone lines, and about $80 a month
of electricity usage... still sure you want to offer space? ;)

Re 354 - Well, since I would no longer be able to call Grex if it
were in Lincoln Park, losing the system and having it move are pretty
much the same from my perspective. >8)

If the move day is 9/15/96 or later, I might be able to help move. Pick
a moving day as soon as possible and I'll do what I can to get the day off
work.

I'd be interrested in helping move/build. I'd also like to see a notice in
here about the emergency board meeting if it's not in the motd...

There will be notice about the emergency meeting. How much notice is another
question, but it will certainly be in the motd.

Well, I'll tell you what If you don't want my space, then I'll do this... I'll
help you move, which day would you be moving one? if it's a sunday or a
tuesday, I can help, those are my days off, ay other days, it would be after
6:30P.M. and then I could help you all move, it's the least I could do.

We don't know when we are moving, or where we are moving. We may end up doing
temporary quarters somewhere, so we may have to move twice.

#367...in nine days?! what happened to the end of next month, isnt
that when the lease runs out?
There's going to be lots of paranoia about potential
days/weeks of downtime while grex is homeless. Any possibility
of temporary digs for a month or two while something more idea
er...ideal is located?

It's not a question of the lease. Our landlords aren't booting us out. The
city is booting us out.
Temporary dig options are likely to be much of what is discussed at the
meeting tonight.

Right. I don't think we're in a position to decide on a
permanent location yet, as we don't really have firm offers from
places that look like promising possibilities. So temporary
housing may well be needed.
On the bright side, we may have some flexibility with the city
on a move-out deadline. I'd think an extension is a good
possibility, especially since we can certainly show that we're
making a good faith effort to relocate.

We came up with a list of options for both temporary and permanant quarters,
but decided that we still had too many things up in the air to be able to make
a decision. We scheduled another meeting for Thursday (at least I think it
was Thursday. I'm sure somebody will correct me if I'm wrong about that).
