IHB I finally got my packages to my family mailed out, I actually do have
money left over from the main job(thank you oh great fate for the 12 hours
of overtime), and I am just exhausted and not annoyingly grumpy. Oh, and I
think I am not going to sleep at all tonight so that I may get some outfits
done... though I think I might actually save grommet torture till friday night
but I kind of want to get it done... Oh, and tonight I get the fun job of
dipping metal boning into liquid rubberized plastic... I am so tempted to buy
some of the black next time and just rubberize some clothing and see how it
comes out.

I'd been kind of halfheartedly looking around for my inhaler (allergy-related
athsma, seasonal, mild, but annoying) for a week or so now. Last night, when
I woke up at 4 a.m. and had trouble getting back to sleep because of
uncooperative lungs, I decided to escalate the search. So I spent a half hour
this morning looking in some of the places I had meant to look at some point.
I didn't find it (I'm thinking now that the move swallowed it), but
the effort did jostle my brain enough that I remembered (duh!) that I
have a prescription for the damn thing! Which I found easily, and
which had lots of refills on it. So, now I can breathe again. :)

"Cuddled with Precious Kitty Girl"? Are you sure you didn't meant that
for the out of context quotes item?

Mary - you don't have to dress gothy or in costume. Some people are coming
as "college students".

Greg - I also have extra inhalers if you ever need some. And YES - it is
perfectly okey dokey for you to call me at 4 a.m. if you are wheezing.

Jiff - we're doing grommet torture together Friday night, but I may not get
home 'til eight. I'll call you.

I'm somewhat happy that I got some lovely flowers at the office (lilies of
the nile, daylilies, irises...) and a plant from my department (i feel less
unloved now...) -- almost enough to make the horrid week from hades feel less
so!

I am very happy that I posted my resume on Monster.com and got about 7 hits
on it. Very happy. And I start temping at a law firm on Monday.

Heh...

I had a wonderful time, as usual, at singing and dancing tonight. I finally
learned the superhard dance known as Mairi's Wedding (a Scottish country
dance), and I got compliments during dinner on how well I did for my first
time. Yay! Oh, and Chris taught me the cool Scottish dance "Road to the
Isles" during dinner at TGI Friday's. =) Everyone watched, but we didn't
care.

If anyone starts making fun of me at the party, they will get koshed with the
beer stein!

Oh, IHB I got most of the bodices done, one skirt with petticoat, and the
chemise...now all I have to do is the goth skirt, and the apron. Oh, and
grommets, lots of grommets... goodbye all feeling in my fingers, especially
my thumbs.

response 363 of 889: Mark Unseen   Oct 27 15:29 UTC 2000

I thought getting koshed was what one usually did with a beer stein. Or, at
least, the contents thereof. :)

IHB the first difficult step has been successfully performed in a project of
mine that's needed doing for some time now. Many more steps ahead, some of
them probably more difficult than the first, but there's always a particularly
frustrating difficulty about that first bit...

<smiles a bit> Well, work wasn't so bad today, but the Leprechaun is
gone for the weekend (and I'm out of here in 25 minutes) and I have fun
things planned for the weekend. Only thing not so good is that my
computer at work is frustrating me.

IHB I'm halfway finished putting the grommets in. Yay! Also, jiffer and I
did an impromptu trip to the 24-hour WalMart in Brighton to get more sewing
supplies.

We have *got* to get over this obsession. Pretty soon we'll be stalking the
black market for fabric pens and bobbins...

in 4 different rooms. Nerd heaven!

I had a good time singing at karaoke last night. Yes, I
got in 'Devil in Disquise' (as Elf-vis), 'The Monster Mash' (my
signature tune' and 'The Witch Doctor'.

good company, too.

IHB the party went well, birdy.

Told many fortunes last night and made $300.00 in two hours (four if you
count drive time). A related item: got four cool new tarot decks on
e-bay. Cheap.

Kenn ran a great seance last night and our new technician did a fine job
with lights, music, and crowd control. <whew!>

I AM ON VACATION UNTIL THURSDAY MORNING!!!!!

Cold drizzly day meant that I got to walk all over town in my
spectacularly hideous orange-and-green plaid umbrella. So I'm happy.
