Alright, so far I've sent off tapes to orinoco, omni, hematite, and
lumen/bookworm (the latter, care of krj..)

If the rest of you want your tapes you have to contact me to let me
know how to get them to you.

OK, it's been over a month since the rest of you laid claims to your
tapes, yet I haven't heard a peep out of most of you.. Contact me to
make arrangements for some sort of exchange or they go back up for grabs
  after the holidays.

I have jon and julie's safe in the trunk of my car. I may not get them
shipped until after the Christmas Crush.

that is OK-- we have been preoccupied with other things and I had
forgotten about it until now.

You can put mine back up for grabs. My car's tape player (the only
place I listen to tapes) is broken. Sorry.

Since I'm in the middle of a big push to get rid of things that I don't
need, use, or want, and since it's been 90 days since I first posted the
offer to give away the tapes, I took the remaining unclaimed cassettes
downtown this afternoon and sold them to Encore [well, most of them..]

I hope those of you who contacted me (and therefore received your tapes)
  have enjoyed them..

I've listened to my David Bowie tape at least three nights a week while
working. =) It's great. Thanks again!

oh well..

response 38 of 61: Mark Unseen   Feb 11 01:01 UTC 2000

Jon, I gave the tapes that were supposed to go to you and Julie to krj
sometime back in December.. I thought you'd received them by now..
Anyway, presumably Ken still has them. Regardless, they were not among
  the ones I sold..

response 39 of 61: Mark Unseen   Feb 11 01:40 UTC 2000

Um, I forgot about these. Presumably they are still in my car trunk
somewhere. I'm running way behind on shipping things out to people.

I was wondering what happened. I am patient; after all, Ken is doing
us a favor =)

While packing I found some more tapes that I'd overlooked
in the first pass.. I also have one or two of the original
batch left (the ones that Encore didn't want..)

So: all of the following are up for grabs to anyone who wants them
enough to either contact me and pick them up OR pay postage..

     (from the fist batch)

     Adrian Belew -- Young Lions
enjoyable solo album from 80's era King Crimson
member and noted studio musician (Bowie, Zappa,
Talking Heads) Belew. Well worth hearing, if just
for the wonderfully goofy track featuring an obscure
radio personality known as "the Prophet Omega"

Graham Parker -- Live! Alone in America
Fine collection of performances from Brit songwriter
Parker, whose angry songs work well in the sparse
solo arrangements recorded on his 88? tour.

INXS -- Listen Like Thieves (Megan-- still want this?)
Decent album from 80's Australian band at the peak of
their popularity. Not a timeless classic, but still
                        enjoyable.

     (new stuff)

David Bowie -- the Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust..
an absolute classic! terrific album! Ryko release,
so it contains bonus tracks that have now been deleted
                        from latest Bowie re-issues.

King Crimson -- In the Court of the Crimson King
their first. quintessential '70s prog-rock. ponder
the mystery of what "20th Century Schizoid Man" has
in common with the rest of the album..

     Var. Artists -- Classic Instrumentals
various surf classics: Pipeeline, Wipeout, etc.
and other early '60s instrumental hits..

     Soundtrack -- Repo Man
wonderful soundtrack with tracks from a "who's who"
of early 80's punk. Iggy, Black Flag, Circle Jerks..

Joe Jackson -- Blaze of Glory
a fine album -- one of his best. solid throughout,
with a number of terrific songs.

     the Mekons -- F.U.N. '90 EP
honestly? not one of their best, but still
                        interesting enough..

     Jerry Harrison -- Casual Gods
                        astonishingly dull post-Talking-Heads solo material.
I cannot remember *one* single thing about this album.
must be heard for its lameness to be believed.

I'm moving soon and I don't intend to take any of these with me, so
anything that's not claimed and on its way to a recipient by one week
from today is going to be sold or thrown out. Consequently there'll
be no messing about with "one tape to a customer" or any of that stuff.
Speak up for as many as you want up to and including all of them, then
hurry up and contact me to arrange pickup or delivery.

response 43 of 61: Mark Unseen   Feb 17 16:40 UTC 2000

Yes. If I happen to run into Ken anytime in the very near future I'll
see if his Ann Arbor to East Lansing Music Delivery Shuttle service is
still operating, otherwise you'll need to send me your address, privately,
  via e-mail.

I recommend the "Blaze of Glory" tape highly. We have this on CD already,
so I will defer to anyone else who wants it, but I'll take it for a
car tape if no one else desires it.
And yes, I can deliver a tape to Wendy.
