I'll second those nominations.
Sindi: Yes, we could do that. I gather the founders used to meet a lot in
people's houses.
Experience has shown, however, that when the meeting is in a public place,
especially one with food, random Grexers are much more likely to show up to
meetings. The more people that show up, the more lively things are, and I'm
all for that.
That said, if it wasn't for the fact that Zingerman's allows us to have a
room to ourselves, i would have pushed for moving to someone's home a long
time ago. I find it very hard to hear other people and to concentrate when
trying to have a meeting in the middle of lots of people having unrelated
conversations.

Thanks for the nomination, Richard. Actually, I was a member of the
very first Grex Board, back in 1992 (and yes, we often met at people's
houses, and took collections of money from board members to keep
Grex afloat. Ah, those were the days). I'm afraid I'll have to
decline, despite my desire to serve Grex, as my future travel schedule
will very likely preclude me from attending board meetings on a regular
basis.
However, I'd like to nominate Ken Josenhans (login krj), as he's
heavily involved with Grex already, and would make a splendid
representative of our family on the board.

but doesnt krj work nights? actually I guess if he's working, he can
call the grex staff meeting and listen in. Just need somebody present
with a cell phone or something.

heard.

although if krj runs, there could be the great virtual candidates debate
between krj and jp2. Have it on party and see who outlasts who. Of course
there is the possibility they might BOTH get elected, which means they
would most likely cancel each other's votes out every time, thereby
effectively reducing the size of the board from seven to five. But Im sure
those meetings wouldnt be dull!

Does krj come across on like as a firey or contentious character? Sometimes
knowing people face-to-face totally alters their on-line appearance.

If you consider M-Net's current financial position to be "good," then
that alone shows you to be undesireable as a Grex board member.. ;)

I'm really hoping that janc reconsiders and lets the voters decide
if he could be of value on the Board. I'd most certainly like
to see him there. He's a fine leader.
Have we heard from other yet? If he doesn't agree to run I'll
break his knees. Enough said.
I'd very much like to see eeyore run again. But I won't break
her knees if she decides she'd rather not.
