Given the range of things he has stated, I would put no faith in anything
he says, which best suggests ignoring all of it.

I'm not comfortable excluding someone based on past disagreements with
people. I *am* comfortable excluding someone based on demonstrated
lack of payment for things in the past, and for withdrawing bids. That's
why I'd like to know if polytarp is withdrawing his bids.

Todd and Eric slipped in. WHat Todd says is what I *think* polytarp is
saying, but I'm not sure.

Mark, it's your call, so I support your option to do what you feel is
appropriate.
For the record, I remain skeptical.

OK, we'll accept your bid, polytarp. Think of it as a chance to impress
Eric with your degree of responsibility. If you win the item, pay for it,
and then declare that you don't want to receive it, that's between you and
Todd.

Then it shouldn't be a problem for you to make the declaration again once
you have sent in the money.

re resp:36: Eric, you need to cultivate your antipathies carefully. In
your position, it can be important to despise -- and be despised by --
the right type of people.

When nobody has made a new bid in at least a week, an auctioneer will
enter a response saying that the item is "going once" to the highest
bidder. If 24 hours pass without a new bid, the auctioneer will
announce that the item is "going twice". And if another 24 hours go
by without a bid, then an auctioneer announces that the item is sold.
No sale is final until an auctioneer says so, so if 24 hours have
passed since "going twice" but the item has not been closed, you may
continue bidding.
SEE?!
NO_ONE"S WON YET!!

polytarp, I'm not playing this game. If you made a bid and are not going to
follow through on it, you are costing Grex money, not to mention wasting my
time. So either withdraw your bid and deal with the consequences, or pay
what you promised (assuming you win).
Your bid of $13.02 is not accepted. One more delaying tactic and I'm
declaring all your bids invalid and banning you from the auction.

Are responses 43, 45, 46 and 47 of sufficent general interest for someone to
summarize them to those of us who are using a twit filter?
