I'm sorry Sindi, but I would have to eat way too many beans to get the
same protein I get from a packet of tuna fish. Not to mention the amino
acids that help keep me going the day after weight training. I can get
some of the amino acids from vegatables, but the complete protein from
milk, eggs, and meat gives me all of them.
And your weighing 50 pounds less than other people is not necessarily a
good thing. It could indicate malnourishment, which is common among
vegetarians that do not monitor their vitamin intake.

Slice up loins, you get chops. Meijer (at least in my neck of the
woods) regularly has 5ish-pound boneless loins on sale for $1.49/lb, and
they'll happily slice it into chops for free.
>Beware of Sam's.
Sam's is a division of Wal-Mart; of course they're evil. Costco is
coming to Toledo. Do they sell groceries?

John, try Jerry's Market in Tecumseh. If they can't sell you a slab o'meat,
they can point you in the right direction. I've always found their prices
reasonable, their staff incredibly friendly and the product good quality.

Jerry's Market has the best meat in Lenawee County. I just plain
didn't think of them. Excellent suggestion. Thanks, Brooke!

I bought 40 lbs. of baby back ribs for Taylor's open house from them - they
were great and as well priced as Costco, allowing me to keep my business in
town. Also, once I had them cooked off and in coolers to store, they let me
bring them back to put in their walk in (thus my comment on great service).
Let me know how it goes, as I'd love to hear about it.

Re losing 50 lb. At least four of the people participating in this item
consider themselves to be overweight, probably by at least 50 lb. Vegetable
protein contains all the essential amino acids. Beans contain more of some
types and grains more of others, so if you want to eat fewer total amino acids
you could combine them (about 4 parts grain to 1 parts beans). American eat
far more protein than they need. I can look up the numbers in a book if
anyone wants. If you avoid 'empty calories' (sugar, fat, refined grains) you
would have a hard time not getting enough protein even without eating beans.
I was pointing out that it is not a good idea to eat a lot of meat, especially
if you don't want to look like the pig you are eating. Domesticated animals
are high fat and all animals are no-fiber.

Re 36 I respect your life, Sindi. I really do. I am currently not in a
position to live it. Besides, I like meat. It's tasty.

Eeriest thing just happened...right after I typed this, I went downstairs and
a guy had a new puppy in his arms in the elevator. That's not what was
weird..what was weird was all the guys dressed like John Belushi in
"Neighbors" that were mobbing the sundrie shop for cards and chocolates.

Well, I guess I agree with Sindi. Too much of anything is not good for
you. This certainly includes food of all kinds.
As long as you live your life the way you want to live it, and let me do
the same, everybody is happy. :)

When I was a kid, my parents got all their meat from Nixon's Grocery in
Brant. I don't know if that's anywhere near where you live, and I
haven't been there in at least a decade so I have no idea if they're
still around or if they still have such a great butcher shop.
