Re #23: Denise - The Grexwalks at Gallup Park are still alive and well - we
walk every saturday, rain or shine. (Well, mostly.)
Dominicks is also doing fine, though I think maybe they close for the
winter. We quit going to Zingerman's every week, and now go to different
restaraunt for lunch each week after the walk. We went to Dominick's at
least once last summer.

Hmm, I don't recall Dominicks closing in the winter but then, its been so
long since I lived in AA... Maybe it was that wild group of people that hung
out downstairs that done them in.
The Grexwalks in one shape or form, has been going on even longer than the
HHs ever did [as I'm one of the originators of this while it was still over
on mnet]. Though I'm so out of shape right now, I know I couldn't walk as far
as everyone else, plus, I just poke along slow anyway. Looks like I'll have
to get in shape to be able to join y'all again.

Dominick's...is that the restaurant near the B-school campus? I recall
hearing sometime in 2001 that one of the owners passed away.

Dominik passed away, his son Richard had been running the place for quite a
while before that and still is. STeve knows the family and we lived next door
to Richard and his mom when we lived on Dewey (the site of many Grex
potlucks). We had dinner there a few weeks ago and talked to Richard a bit.

I lived on Dewey with lkjh and four other M-Net/Grex folks. We ate Bell's
or Gumby's pizza...never Dominick's.

But the fountain is, well, worth the mediocre food. And sometimes what
you really want is Greek-Korean food.

I have found that Dominic's food is pretty good after two or three
glasses of their sangria. ;)

When I was a regular attendee at the M-Net happy hours at Dominick's,
back in the 1980s, I would usually have a fish&fungus pizza and a bottle
of Hacker-Pshorr (sp?). Mmmmm, good....
On the rare occasions that we go to Dominick's nowadays, I find that the
combination still works.

How's Meg?
I also remember sometimes doing the Happy Hour at Dominics and then sometimes
we'd go elsewhere for dinner.

I saw they have Stevie Wonder and they're still seeking others for the collage
performance. I've heard stories about Aretha Franklin being the biggest
cheapskate in all of Motown performers so I'd be surprised if they get
suckered into getting her.
