Hmmm, that was a long time ago.

To call mythago "an attractive young woman" is like calling the Pacific
Ocean "a bunch of water". Words like "stunning" do not overstate the
case. As you may recall, she was able to earn much more money from her
appearance than she could from her law degree. A life like that could
make anyone bitter.

I have not seen or spoken with mythago in many years, even online. But
she startled me recently by posting a very kind testimonial about me on
Friendster.

Valerie and I visited them last time we were in California, I guess at the
time of Garima's wedding. We took all our kids out to a Hands-On Museum
thing in San Jose, where we blew lots of cool bubbles and Arlo fell in
love with an ambulance. My memory of the rest is vague (as usual) but
Tom and Laurel seemed reasonably happy and entirely nice. I think we visited
them once before in California and once while they were visiting relations
here in Ann Arbor. Valerie and Tom are old friends but not in consistant
communication.

Ole cut-n-paste said
      "
I just wish we had one of the classic assholes from m-net. The
younger
breed never was all that amusing. They mostly just spent a lot of time
ranting and then when cornered said "oh I don't take this seriously", despite
the time and effort they so lovingly put into it. The classic assholes had
 character."

I hounded you for years on m-net you STUPID cumlip. You haven't learned a
fucking thing. You still get an ego boost by responding to posts that should
>be ignored. Any one with any degree of clarity can see thru your pretentions.
Your wit is dull as your preconcieved ideas. You shitdick buttfucker. You'll
never filter my posts. I bet you do a "ps -aux|grep sabre" just to see what
I'm doing. Go cry me a river you pussy ass bitch.

Well, to be fair. Different people have different tastes. There is
hardly a point arguing about it.

In those days anything female would attract a cloud of hovering geek guys
at M-Net events. Laurel was attractive enough to enough people that I'm
sure she got the effect in spades. Different women cope with this effect
differently. Firing bolts of random hostility always struck me as as
reasonable a response as any.

Hey, I thought she was hot. But tastes differ, and I got along with her,
which helps.

Laurel was rather shameless about using her physical attributes to
attract attention and otherwise manipulate people to do what she
wanted, and she did this long before she started dancing in Canadian
strip clubs. I found it very hypocritical of her to wish males to
want her one minute, and then ignore her the next depending on her
whim. It was just plain disrespectful of other people's humanity.
