OK, I've given it some more thought, and I've spent a fair bit of
time over in the music conference, checking things out and doing some
housecleaning. I think we can continue to make the one music
conference idea work. Out of the 121 items I found there today,
I froze 41 that had received no responses in at least 3 months.
I intend to remove them in a couple of weeks. I'm still open to the
idea of a complete restart, but I think a rolling restart can
work, too, as long as I keep current with the conference, which
I intend to do.
Since Mike McNally is no longer online here, and Ken Josenhans isn't
sure he wants to continue as fairwitness, we may be looking for a new
co-fairwitness. Someone who's into alternative music, but who
doesn't detest classical music, that would be ideal. Any nominations?

I would love to co-fairwitness the conference! If you read my .plan, you
will see how music ranks in my life.

In light of arabella's responses, is there still interest in fragmenting Music?

But I'm going to simply get way-agressive about forgetting everything
that doesn't pertain to the classical genre. And I'll continue to
read four Usenet groups dedicated to classical music.
This simply isn't a big deal and I'd hate to see it become one.

Why would you like to have an accordions conference, brenner? Would that
subject fit into the current music conference?
By the way, this is not a 'no' (like *I* could make that decision, anyway 8*).
It's just conversation aimed at finding out how necessary the conference is.

That might be the most unusual request for a conference yet. I say
lets do it.

The conference title is bait for
a loose-knit group of poetic
terrorists and their running dog
lackeys. It is my sincere hope that it
will be an accordion-free zone, but there
is no accounting for taste.

conference. Am I the only one?

Re #241: Wassamatter, isn't "loose-knit group of poetic terrorists and
their running dog lackeys" clear enough for you? :)

True poetic terrorism would be to hijack such a conference for a discussion
of accordion music.

ODE TO THE ERRANT FAIRWITNESS
A fairwitness mustn't scribble
For reasons unfair
Or slander concertinas
Or act like they don't care
Or link rc's to fortune
Or urc's to core
Humdog and I are fw's
We'll tell you if there's more.
