I try not too... I am amazed I had one, doctor's explanation is that I have
just been really sick lately and the body can only handle soo much.
*hugs for Trish and her Father*

The thought on cranberry juice is not that it makes the urine's pH too
acid and therefore hostile to bacteria, but rather it keeps the bacteria
from attaching to the bladder wall.

My Dad's cancer has returned. Well, apparently, it never really left. He
now has cancer all over his spine. I don't really know much more of the
prognosis.

<hugs Steve tightly> Remember what I told you...OSU football players
with tumors landing on their heads. ;)
The big head chief cancer doctor will be in Monday to visit Steve's dad
and give a better diagnosis, I guess. (I don't understand medical
jargon) His dad was in good spirits this evening when I visited him,
with Steve, before coming back to Lansing. Resting presumably
comfortable, as his pain medication was beginning to wear off.

Jiffer, at Whole Foods you can get concentrated cranberry
capsules that give you the cranberry effects you need
without drinking all that liquid. It's called Cranactin,
and it works. Also, I've heard that blueberries also cause
the slippery bladder effects.

Good luck Steve and Steve's dad. It's a tough thing to go through.
I hate that Eudora pushed me to upgrade to 5.0, and when I did the
only noticeable difference I found is that it started spewing ads at me (I
had paid for it previously), and eventually told me it'd disable itself if
I didn't provide marketing information.

And like today has sorta sucked because it's run run run all day long
and I feel all fat and gross and blurpy and i try on boots none of them
fit because i can't zip past mid-calf so now I need some kickass lace
up boots but hell, they're expensive and i got no money until next week
and my hair looks stupid and tonight i have to go to the funeral
visitation and it makes me so sad for everyone and I'm sad that my
friend doesn't have a father now, at least not a living one....
but I do get to see my beeyootiful nephew tonight. Hence, I'm ok.

IBB I don't really have time to actively participate in very
many of the discussions here, and the one or two I can keep
up with are the ones that are rant-provoking instead of the
lighter, fun ones.

Re #219: Bruce, you actually put the canning jars in the oven with batter
inside them? How fascinating. I'd be afraid the jars would break.

yup. you fill the jar a little less than half full with your cake of choice,
using the quilted jelly jars after coating the inside of the jar with melted
crisco, then bake 35 to 45 minutes. Cake bakes up right in the jar. While
still warm, put the canning lids on and it seals juat like a jam would.
Supposed to last over a year. makes one serving per jar.
Your mileage may vary...

Hmm....that sounds cool...
IBB computers suck. My work computer is acting up, a simple reload and
hardware addition is turning into major pains, and any efforts to do anything
other than the "immediate gotta get done" stuff is out. <sigh> I will relax
and sleep well soon...I swear...
