So you want Newport road, just where it crosses the M-14 highway.
Just a wee bit north of the bridge is a little dirt road that slopes
down to a little parking lot. The walk meets there. If you are
coming from the highway, note that there is no exit at Newport, just
at Main Street and at Maple and Miller. Getting from Main to Huron
River Drive is a bit tricky. Be alert. Amateurs may do better
approaching Newport Road from Miller Road. Occasionally the parking
lot gate is left locked. Park at the school and walk across the
 bridge.

Los Tres Amigos on the 25th drew a good-sized bunch. From memory,
attendees were: gelinas, bru, anderyn, Rhiannon, Griffin, Leslie
(young Leslie), remmers, mary, arabella, krj, aruba, Carol, kaplan,
chanur, Ross.

As this weekend is the first Saturday in March, the walk will be at
Bird Hills Park, and the lunch afterwards will be on the western edge
of town: the Panera Bread cafe on Jackson Road.

Please note this is NOT the Panera Bread cafe we went to the previous
two years, which was in the Colonnade mall.

Walkers today were janc and aruba. Bird Hills was very frozen, though the
spillway was clear. The paths were slippery.

Bbbbrrrr. It sounds like I'm going to have to get re-aclimated to the MI
winters/cold weather.

Lunch was also sparsely attended, in contrast to the preceding week.

Grex destinations?

This Saturday's walkers were aruba, janc, kaplan, and remmers (humans);
plus Mutsie and Orville (canines). Lunch turnout at DaLat was a bit
larger and consisted of humans only: aruba, Carol, janc, kaplan, krj,
mary, remmers, vanloons, and vixen (the last two having recently
returned from a year's sojourn in India).
