Time (GMT): 11:48pm Status: Stressed!
Subject: HELP!
I've looked around grex for a computery problem forum, but can't find one...
there's Garage, but that's for grex stuff. So until someone can point me the
right way, I'll just have to post here :) I've wired up my 2 computers. The
Network cards can talk to each other (i've done a diagnostics program thing).
Now i need to get the "Client for Microsoft working@ with PTC/IP. I can't even
see the local computer in the Network neighbourhood... so can anyone give me
a URL or something to a resource that might help me understand... TY. + I
understand that these 2 posts r very out of topic so i'll understand if anyone
wants to yell at me. I'm going to sleep now. In the morning i'll be expecting
lots of helpful replys :-] TY for ur patience! :-] normally i'd post on a
newsgroup somewhere but my normal PC (the K6) hasn't a modem and the 486
hasn't the software...extcuses excuses...
cya all!

First bit of advice: Join the Micros conference. Enter

        j micros

at the next Ok: prompt you see.

Second bit of advice: don't use Windows. (OK, so I still use NT on at least
one of my machines.)

Another piece of advice: type "e" at the Ok: prompt in order to entier a NEW
item about a topic.

Better yet, go to (in this case) micros, and continue an existing item.

help conf gives one a list of Grex conferences.

You may also find cyber.cf an interesting conference.

 while and promptly faints>

response 199 of 287: Mark Unseen   Oct 30 15:42 UTC 2000

Why should my posting in Agora incur fainting spells?
remmers
response 200 of 287: Mark Unseen   Oct 30 18:24 UTC 2000

I presume because of your past clearly-stated attitude of
Agora-abhorrence, and consequent years of Agora-avoidance.

response 201 of 287: Mark Unseen   Oct 30 18:49 UTC 2000

Ah. That was before the BBS traffic diminished to sufficient levels that I
could actually keep up with (and even, natch, dominate... my intellectual dick
is so big, I gotta show everyone) Agora.

response 202 of 287: Mark Unseen   Oct 30 22:31 UTC 2000

(wow, that's true. brighn was out of Agora much longer than I was.
my one-eyed monster bows humbly.)

response 204 of 287: Mark Unseen   Oct 31 06:20 UTC 2000

well, yeah, my physical dick is big, too, but that was supposed to be our lil
secret...

response 205 of 287: Mark Unseen   Oct 31 17:32 UTC 2000

Re #201: Agora seems just as big, if not bigger, than it was in
the years when you were avoiding it. So are you saying that BBS
traffic in other conferences has diminished, thus freeing up more
of your time for Agora?
brighn
response 206 of 287: Mark Unseen   Oct 31 17:37 UTC 2000

It seems smaller to me... the same number of items, but less active posting.
But yes, all the other confs on my cflist are dead or dormant...

response 207 of 287: Mark Unseen   Oct 31 18:13 UTC 2000

Have you tried rejuvenating them all?
brighn
response 208 of 287: Mark Unseen   Oct 31 18:15 UTC 2000

I've posted in most of them in the last week, yes.

This thread is beginning to make me feel unwelcome here.

<pats Brighn's shoulder> Poor Brighn, it's okay.
