This weekend Barbara and I went to the reception after the wedding of
the daughter of a very close high school friend of hers. The food was
excellent, but very, very slow in coming. To entertain myself, I decided
to entertain my niece who was there with my brother and his wife Dana, who
bowl with Barbara and the mother of the bride.

In any case, my niece is around seven years old, and we had a grand 'ol
juvenile time teasing each other about boogers and food and he said - she
said stuff. She has a marvelous giggle. It was a happy time.

Wow. Today went surprisingly well. I managed to pull off a crazy stunt in
the middle of the day (with management's blessing!) and things weren't too
bad. And I get to sleep in. :)

IHB I just had dinner with senna.
IHB I'm *finally* getting used to my new glasses. Those were some screwed
up days...

IHb- I had a fabulous weekend. :) Got to see a friend I hadn't seen
for 7 years, stayed up almost all night two nights in a row talking to
her the first night and the second we were in Midland talking to a
third friend... was all good.

IAHB- I have an interview on Friday... for a job that sounds like it
could be pretty good...

After a long dry spell, finally a new quarter: New Hampshire.

Really? I got the New Hampshire quarter like 2 or 3 weeks ago.

IHB I picked up my hockey tickets for this season. Unfortunately our
jerseys weren't in. But I have tickets. :) :)

I'm happy because even though my doctor told me I was still to sick to skate,
she said I was now well enough that I could start to ignore her advice.

Otherwise, I'm happy because I might get to go to see Dan this weekend, yea
fun stuff, and because I'm finally getting caught up in school.

Still rooting blindly for Pittsburgh, Wendy?

(I'm not only waiting on new quarters, but Sacagawea hasn't even made
it up to the UP.)

I had *one* Sacagawea coin... but I had to use it when I got really
broke. I want another one. <pouts>

I go to the bank to deposit my paycheck, so I've taken to demanding some of
the money in Sacagawea dollars. Usually they have less than $20 worth, of
which I take 100%. Then I always have them to give out.

Dumb, I know, but what the heck. And about half the time people are happy
to get them when I'm paying for something.

Milestone: In my usual habit of peering into the cash drawer to see if they
have any Sacy dollars, I actually saw some last night! First time.

I couldn't test Wall-Mart last night to see if I would get the
Soaring Eagle in change, my order came to $39.55.

Bruce always buys a roll of the Sacagawea coins when he cashes his check. So
I usually have four or five in my purse for emergencies.

I'm happy that there are Finally! proper signs marking the path
of Territorial Road all the way from highway M-52 across to US-127.
So I drove that up to work today. I get into driving the back
roads more in the fall, to see the leaves.

Wonderful music is raining down on my head in unimaginable quantities.
This weekend, a little net research turned up a wonderful canned radio
show of 15 current British folk albums. And right now I'm downloading
Charlie Gillett's World Music Charts Europe show.

Yes, still cheering blindly for Pittsburgh, but the hockey tickets I'm
talking about now are MSU hockey ones. <bouncebounce>

And I bet that Wendy has March 2 circled on her calendar already, right?

Meijer distributes 2 sacs to each cash drawer, so there are some available
for change on a fairly regular basis.

I had the day off, and I used it quite well. IE, I did almost nothing.

And November 4th, and February 17th. One of the perks of the Slapshot
section is several away games. >8)

I haven't seen a Sacagawea Dollar in months. Maybe they're less common in
the Bay Area than they are in Ann Arbor.

Ah, yes, The Thrilla in Manilla. It *was* a great fight, now that ESPN
Classic finally got around to showing it. I think they actually sold the
titanic nature of it short. :) But that's okay, I can fill in the rest.

When I get my paycheck cashed, I pick up a bunch too. I just like them, and
then they fit SO nice in my wallet in a special pouch, I generally forget that
I have them, so they are there for emergenices. Very nice. And pretty too.

I like using the Soarking Eagle as a 'Gold Soveriegn' tip at the
Ren Fest. Snowsong, the dragon, was playing with one, balancing it on
it's nose before letting it drop into the tip sack.

For $40 at one of those evil huge computer stores I got a cheapo little PC
camera! OK, it doesn't even do a full 640x480, but it's great for taking
quick snapshots of things (handy for email collaberations on real-world
objects). And it came with non-bloated software, which is the real blessing.
Now if I can only find a Linux driver...

And since I've been playing with it alreayd, check out
http://www.wwnet.net/~scott/geeky_smile.html for a hot-off-the-CCD photo.

(Yes! If I can get USB running on a 2.2 kernal I should be able to run the
cheapo USB cam!)
