determinism?

Obviously, jp2 susbscribes to the doctrine that each volition or
act of choice is determined by the character of the agent plus the
motives acting on him at the time, or more fundamentally by the
physiological conditions of the organism. It's a classical ploy
for denying responsibility for one's actions. It hadn't occurred
to me that flem holds to this view as well. Well, maybe flem is
a closet determinist.

Yeah, well, that's what you say here but I know that you too
were hoping it would come to a swimsuit contest. Fess up.

I would like to see the candidates debate the merits of
determinism, while dressed in swimsuits.

I think I'd almost rather see them discuss the merits of swimsuits while
dressed in determinism.

sorry, I forgot where I was, and I the visions of grex board members in
swimsuits was distracting me.

Perhaps grex could (later in the year) run a virtual swimsuit contest if
someone wants to donate webspace for images.

Do we appoint a judge or panel of judges, or submit the images to a members'
vote?

response 121 of 139: Mark Unseen   Dec 25 04:17 UTC 2001

member's vote, of course. And, as usual, non-members' votes will be recorded
and reported.

And then there are those of us who just make it up
as we go along. Sometimes, in a swimsuit, even.

Hey, you haven't seen me in a swimsuit. ;)

well flem vs. bhell in a swimsuit contest would only have to be the
tiebreaker, if the arm wrestling and beer chugging didnt produce an
overrall winner. besides davel, unless you've seen both of them in
swimsuits, how can you assume who'd win? :)
