Thats an artifact of Picospan being compiled on a OpenBSD 3.8-current
system, which was what I thought Grex would be using. I don't have any
stock 3.8 machines around right now, so I'm going to retrofit one and
recompile to get rid of the message. It's harmless however.

I meant to say Spamassassin appears NOT to be working. I just got another
long message about it after remarking it out. My last mail arrived shortly
after midnight Wednesday dated around 1 am Tuesday - meaning grex is 23 hours
behind the times, not 1 hour ahead. Can this be fixed easily?
Have you restored all of /var/mail now? I got a bounced mail writing to a
grexer this evening.
Why are we using 3.6 instead of 3.8? Is it more stable?

We're running 3.8. Did you see something that said it was 3.6?
/var/mail can't be restored. There should be an ancient copy
on 8mm tape but thats going to take some effort to get.

Have you fixed anybody else's /var/mail/userid account besides mine?
I could not send mail to another grexer, mail program could not find his
account directory.
I will write the nice QMS support people again for the link they sent that
I was saving and should have saved somewhere else.
You might warn people to backup anything important to their own computer
before the next upgrade.

I think most of the procmail issues should be fixed now. It appears
that you need an entry in /var/mail for it to work. At least thats the
theory, so I created about 712 of them. If you've had mail problems
before, let us know if thats still the case.

I still cannot send mail to several grexers without it bouncing back:
/var/mail/jdeigert and wlevak are not found. I forward jdeigert's mail here
and got a spam just now addressed to him (Vlagtra, Seavitra and Swoma).
undid spamassassin -should I put it back? Apparently procmail can forward
but not keep mail that goes into /var/mail. Were some grexers usnig a
different mail partition?

I've got a problem with bogus bounce messages on incoming mail.
These messages are generated by procmail. I have sent a full
description to staff, but have received no response.

I can now see wlevak and jdeigert in /var/mail and also another friend who
called to ask why his mail is not working at grex.
Staff is obviously too busy fixing problems to answer mail right now.

I sent mail to wlevak successfully. I'm not sure why you can't, yet.
Procmail is definitely weird and I'm learning about it now.

A user reports that gcc does not work. Unfortunately, I have no further
details.

At the time I could not send mail to wlevak there was no /var/mail/wlevak,
and now there is. Jdeigert also exists again.

gcc works. If you can find out what the person was doing we could
figure out what they did incorrectly.

Procmail is still not happy with spamassassin (which I am running from someone
else's directory - should I be using the grex version instead now?).

I just received the following in my inbox, with no To:
and two dates differing by 8 hours (maybe from some place east of here).
Did grex do this to the mail or was it sent out like this?

I think the last email was some sort of spam, but how did it get through
without a To:
When will the modems be working again? There are still people with no other
access to grex.
