Hey Mike (lionfish). I'm 18, too. What do you plan to study at Uni? I have
a friend in France who opted for another four years of prep before Uni. I
would positively die...so glad I'm a sophomore already, I just don't know what
I'd do if I weren't. As for not having a life, that's mee all the way (but
since I just switched to neuroscience for a major, I'd better get used to it).

For some (strange) reason I'm hoping to do Math + Physics at Uni - but i might
just change my mind and do something completely idifferent (although i've
already handed in my UCUS (yuckus) form... My biggest passion (that i could
study at uni :) would be AI/NN - i've written 1000s of programs which try to
simulate NNs - and i feel i should take at lest some sort of shortcourse in
NN just to get a grounding in what i'm trying to model. I've done 2 successful
NNs so far: An XOR gate (AND/OR gate r too easy :) - and one to control a
robot - but i haven't pluggd it into a REAL robot yet... - hopefully i'll get
to do that in Electronics at college...
I can't believe someone would want to take another FOUR years before Uni..!
what did u switch from before Neuroscience? + It's going to be interesting
learning about all this Grex stuff - what's this server and everything here
called (appart from "cyber space") what do the members like to think of
thmselves as a member of? + does anyone still phone the server directly? Now
to try and remember how to end a response is it full-stop or ctrl-C/X????

Not everyone on this list is from Chicago, why, there are even people
on this list from the remote corners of "that town" known as
Ypsilanti. We all just like to pretend we're from Chicago. And you're
right "exile" sounds much more romantic and "college."

re104 I was in Anthropology before neuroscience. I have just begun Grexing,
also, so I don't really know about 'membership', but I can tell you that some
people still dial up to the 'net. What exactly do the letters 'NN' stand for?

lionfish: if you look at Grex's web page at http://www.cyberspace.org
you'll see the information about who makes Grex possible.

Lionfish -- if rambling and ranting weren't allowed, Grex would be
*very* quiet. I wouldn't worry about it if I were you.

So I'm Sara, or was last I checked. Yet another of the horde of Grexers
in their early twenties who've been here off and on since high school.
Lately my participation in agora tends to take the form of cameo
appearances, however. I live in northern California and consume
granola and tofu fairly regularly, although not together, usually. I'm
not sure who or what else I am these days, but have it on good authority
that I am not a giraffe.

(I'm excited about seeing so many new people here! Welcome to Grex -- it
gets more rambling!)

It's a good point that lionfish raised, I don't see nearly enough
appreciation for the tough job of running a free system *and* dealing with
rather silly accusations of impropriety at the same time. Thanks!
