Also look at survey results (which I don't have -- I could only speculate) for
how these statistics are percieved ("unfortunate" or "an outrage"?) and, more
importantly, *which way they are going* (are they increasing or decreasing?) --
these are more "the culture" than the current statistics.

Your attempt to get other people to do your homework is noted. Does
Cavlin block its students from accessing google or something?
But, OK, let's accept for the sake of argument that you are a tiny
minority, like Hasidic Jews, and that the majority is constantly
assailing you with values which you find wrong and offensive. Given
that this is a democratic society, what are the public policy
implications? Should the government be promoting things like abstinence
education which are (according to you) against the values of the vast
majority of Americans?

Recall that I don't *want* my views to be contrary to the tide of the culture.
If they aren't, so much the better -- the nation will last longer.
