It's upgrade time

I'm now in the market for one of the following:
Laptop:
-------
1 GHz or better
512M memory (1G preferred)
40GB hard drive (80GB preferred)
Video at least 1024x768x16bit
Sound recognized by apps as SB16
USB 2.0
At least one serial port
PCMCIA or Compact Flash
802.11B capable
Current Linux must have drivers for all.
---- or ----
PDA device:
-----------
Fairly fast processor
Good battery life
Screen at least 320x320x8bit
Sound capability of some sort
16MB memory or better
PCMCIA or Compact Flash slot
802.11B capable
Wide variety of downloadable apps
Fully featured Lotus 123 or Excel clone would be nice
I am giving the laptop a $400 handicap over the PDA since it would be
capable of substituting for an otherwise planned desktop upgrade.
Who in the area has the best deal?

Make sure to put a fast (5400 RPM not 4500 RPM) hard drive in the notebook.
You might also want to look at 802.11G rather than B (it is backward
compatible with B but can also run at 54 Mbps).
We're not always the cheapest, but we are always the best. (:

(September pricing should be up by next weekend.)
