I always like the ski jumping, but only because its fun to see if anybody
wipes out on their landing.

Every time I buy a 12 pack of Coca Cola it comes with a code I enter
into the coca cola website. Then it comes back with an olympic event. If
the US wins a medal in that event, I get 5 2-liters of my favorite coke
product. My events so far are:

Women's - Bobsleigh Two-Woman
Event Date: 2/21/2006 1330 EST

Women's - Alpine Skiing Giant Slalom
Event Date: 2/24/2006 0700 EST

Men's - Curling
Event Date: 2/24/2006 1130 EST

My favorite part is the announcement of the results of the drug tests.

My favorite event is curling, by far. I believe it's the only event which
is neither skating nor skiing nor sledding.

There's talk of demonstrating snowshoe running as an olympic sport but not
this year.

In a lot of areas Comcast is picking up Universal-HD (sometimes dropping
other channels like INHD2 temporarily) to provide broader high-def coverage.

I always wish during the Olympics that I lived closer to the border so I could
get the CBC (Canadian) coverage, because NBC's coverage is always too biased
towards the Americans.

Accoring to the definitions of ski and skiing, it is probably not
skiing.

I like to watch the pairs figure skating, to watch when the guy lifts the
girl, and see if he slips and drops her on her butt. pairs figure skating
is always a disaster waiting to happen...

Biathalon is not much of a sport to watch. I always found the Luge exciting
to watch when they screw up. Or the Bobsled.

Tod just likes to watch young women in short skirts flying thru the air. It
gives him the same thrill as girls on a trampoline.

Young women and girls are not the same. Excuse me for being a healthy male
that likes to watch female figure skating. Yea, ever since Dorothy Hamill.
For the record, the only (maybe) underage women are Emily Hughes and
Kimmie Messner(they're 17/18). The rest?

I think its funny that anybody would fault a guy for being a US figure
skating fan.

these female figure skaters who are 17 and 18 look like they are twelve,
because like with gymnasts, the intense physical activity causes arrested
development, i.e. some don't start puberty until their competitive years are
over.

A lot of it has to do with changes in skating as well...there used to be a
much stronger focus on the actual figures - now it's more of a jumping game.

You're mixing up figure skating with gymnastics, richard.

The gymnasts are notorious for malnurishment thus pixie hollow frames.
The skaters eat just fine and aren't arrested in any way (unless they're Tanya
Harding)

Uh oh, my new favorite item.... I LOVE THE OLYMPICS. I'm addicted.
Have been for years. The Winter Olympics are my fav too.

I like the figure skating, cause I'm a chic, of course. (minus the
necessary but evil judging)
I like speed skating (long and short track)
I like all skiing events.
The rest I will watch as I have time. I tivo everything up the wazoo
and the buzz through it. I am really looking forward to it!
tod

Hockey's a much safer event than figure skating. At least with hockey you're
wearing heavy padding when thugs beat on you with sticks.

The opening ceremonies were quite nice, especially the ending when
Luciano Pavarotti came out and sang the beautiful "Nessun Dorma" from
Puccini's "Turandot" Its hard to believe Pavarotti can still sing like
that at the age of seventy.
