Had a pretty quiet 4th here. For logistic reasons, the big
holiday family gathering will be at our house today (the 5th) -
less quiet, more fun.
Thanks for the good wishes from the UK. You Brits sure are
good losers. :)

Had a few resoundingly loud and pretty fireworks for about a half an hour
after the movie last night. Eventually the Ann Arbor police showed up to
report that complaints were mounting, and DPS informed us it was time to
stop. Fortunately, the last mortar had just been launched.
