The Covenant of Death
Israel National News ^ | 02 July 2003 | Prof. Paul Eidelberg
"Israel will exist and will continue to exist until Islam will obliterate
it..." Thus begins the Covenant of Death, officially known as "The Covenant
of the Islamic Resistance Movement" [Hamas]. To grasp the true nature of the
war that is being waged against the Jewish State of Israel, and not only by
the Arabs in Judea, Samaria, and Gaza, let us examine this Covenant of Death.
In discussing Islam's war against the Jewish state, the Covenant refers to
the Arabs of Judea, Samaria, and Gaza as but a single "squadron" of the "vast
Islamic world". "Our struggle against the Jews is very great," and this
struggle will go on "until the enemy is vanquished and Allah's victory is
realized."
The Covenant also refers to the Islamic Resistance Movement as "one of the
wings of [the] Moslem Brotherhood in Palestine." It calls upon all Moslems
to "raise the banner of Jihad in the face of the oppressors, so that they
would rid the land and the people of their uncleanness, vileness and evils."
Contrary to the puerilities of the media, the Moslem Brotherhood is not a
fanatical sect of Islam; it is Islam authentic and resurgent.
Again: "The Islamic Resistance Movement is a distinguished Palestinian
movement, whose allegiance to Allah, and whose way of life is Islam. It
strives to raise the banner of Islam over every inch of Palestine." The
Movement has the support of Egypt. When the Egyptians took over Taba from the
Israelis, they raised banners declaring "TABA TODAY, PALESTINE TOMORROW."
"The Islamic Resistance Movement aspires to the realization of Allah's
promise, no matter how long that should take. The Prophet, Allah bless him
and grant him salvation, has said: 'The Day of Judgment will not come about
until Moslems fight and kill the Jews, when the Jew will hide behind stones
and trees. The stones and trees will say O Moslem, there is a Jew behind me,
come and kill him.'"
Unlike the cult of peace, Moslems regard "Death for the sake of Allah [as]
the loftiest of wishes." Hence these Moslems are prepared to drench
"Palestine" with blood. They are not about to be bought off with the bourgeois
policy of "territory for peace." This policy arouses in Arabs contempt for
Jews. It makes Jewish blood cheap by making the Land of Israel cheap. It is
precisely this betrayal of the Jewish Covenant of Life that has given rise
to the Islamic Covenant of Death.
"The Islamic Resistance Movement believes that the land of Palestine is an
Islamic Waqf, consecrated for the future Moslem generations until Judgment
Day. It, or any part of it, should not be squandered; it, or any part of it,
should not be given up."
With utter contempt for Israeli prime ministers like Ariel Sharon, who call
for peaceful co-existence between Jews and a subtle manifestation of moral
the Covenant of Death proclaims: "There is no solution for the Palestinian
question except through Jihad. Initiatives, proposals and international
conferences are all a waste of time and vain endeavors."
Israels ruling elites lack the intestines to face the totalitarian dimensions
of this Covenant: "The day the enemies usurp part of Moslem land, Jihad
becomes the individual duty of every Moslem. It is [therefore] necessary to
instill in the minds of the Moslem generations that the Palestinian problem
is a religious problem, and should be dealt with on this basis." Hence, the
Covenant enjoins upon Moslems the following oath: "I swear by the holder of
Muhammad's soul that I would like to invade and be killed for the sake of
Allah, then invade and be killed, and then invade again and be killed."
Hard for the demagogues of peace to take such heady stuff seriously. Having
learned nothing from the past, these demagogues persist in negotiating with
the successors of the Nazis, the PLO-led Palestinian Authority, while the
Covenant of Death proclaims: "The [PLO] Palestine Liberation Organization is
the closest to the heart of the Islamic Resistance Movement."
The Covenant of Death concludes by emphasizing that Jihad is "the only way
to liberate Palestine. There is no doubt about the testimony of history. It
is one of the laws of the universe and one of the rules of existence. Nothing
can overcome iron except iron."
The Covenant of Death actually expresses the genocidal goal of the
PLO-Palestinian Authority, still ruled by Yasser Arafat. No government of
Israel has had the courage to destroy that despotic regime. Nor will it, until
Israel embraces the Covenant of Life.

If you dig through the 60's, you can find the black panthers saying much
the same thing. Are you arguing that because some crazed arabs wrote
this we should support discrimination against all the rest?

re#1: Are you saying that because they write this kind of stuff and
then act accordingly that we should pretend they don't really mean it?
I'm sure that mvpel could find equally disturbing writings by equally
disturbing israelis - the difference is that Israel doesn't allow those
disturbed writers to act (or at least tries not to) and the PLA
currently does.

I Dont agree with the Arab position or their methods, but the one thing Im
sure of is that Sharon is a blood-thirsty ASSASSIN. He is behaving exactly
in the same way the Nazis did before and during WWII.

Yes please back that up with some facts. He is only responding to suicide
attacks on his own people. If those attacks would stop then Sharon would stop
responding.

Yes, I agree with bis (#5). Ariel Sharon is obviously SO much more
evil than the Hamas militants, and the militants who plan and execute
the incineration of innocent civilians on buses and in cafes and
dining halls are VASTLY morally superior to Sharon, who tries to
kill them first. How dare he interfere with such an important task?
The talk of 60% of Palestinians being out of work must be a cover
for the Israeli work camps where they are all actually being used
as slave labor. The gas chambers and crematoria will no doubt be
discovered in due course, along with the falsification of the
population records showing that the Palestinian population isn't
shrinking due to the genocide - the figures showing growth in their
numbers faster than Israel's has to be a pack of vicious lies.
I'd like to thank bis for setting us SO straight. Sharon = Hitler - yeah!
(does dripped sarcasm hurt keyboards?)

[Cool! That was like a double "I'm rubber, you're glue," "No, *I'm*
rubber, *you're* glue."]
I don't see why Hamas should get to have a covenant of death just by
calling shotgun on it. What about us? We turned murderous after 9/11
on a scale Hamas and the others still haven't grasped. Bush officials
keep saying it isn't even close to being over yet. That's what I call
a covenant of death. The Hamas thing is more like "The Palestinian
Hissy Fit" or something.

Re: 3 - the closest Israel comes to this is the rhetoric of the Kach and
Kahane Chai groups, and they've both been outlawed by the Israeli government
since 1994.
Under the "Roadmap," the PA is required to carry out the dismantlement of
terrorist capabilities and infrastructure, confiscate their weapons, arrest,
disrupt, and restrain them, etc. They did none of this as of the ninth week
of the Roadmap ( http://www.zoa.org/pressrel/20030701b.htm ), so it stands
to reason that the PA, Israel's so-called "partner in peace" shares the
Hamas goal of driving Jews out of the "occupied territories," that is,
"every inch of Palestine."

How is Israel supposed to achieve peace and security in such a situation?

Funny, I distinctly recall ol' Beady saying that he thought his

That's about what I'd expect from someone who just finished reading

The killing of Jews is a mandatory religious obligation established by Islam's
founder Muhammad, according to a Muslim academic who spoke on Palestinian
Authority television.
"Muhammad said in his Hadith: "The Hour [Day of Resurrection] will not arrive
until you fight the Jews, [until a Jew will hide behind a rock or tree] and
the rock and the tree will say: 'Oh Muslim, servant of Allah, there is a Jew
behind me, come and kill him!'" said Hassan Khader, founder of the Al Quds
Encyclopedia.
Khader spoke during a lecture, broadcast Sunday, on what he describes as the
war of the Jews against Palestinian "trees."
The program was monitored by Palestinian Media Watch, or PMW, an Israel-based
group.
PMW director Itamar Marcus says Khader's statement was one of many instances
in recent years of Palestinian religious leaders teaching publicly that this
Hadith part of Islamic traditions attributed to Muhammad is a current
obligation of Islam.
Marcus says these teachings challenge the common belief that the premise for
negotiations between Israel and the Palestinians is over borders.
"Palestinian religious and academic leaders publicly teach that the
Israel-Palestinian conflict is part of Islam's irreconcilable religious war
against the Jews," he says.
"To justify this view," he adds, "Palestinians repeatedly cite Islamic sources
to demand as religious doctrine, that Jews be hated, even demanding the
killing of Jews as the will of Allah."
Marcus says "the continued expression of this PA worldview is most ominous."
"For by depicting redemption as dependent on Muslims' murder of Jews, the
murder of Jews is being presented as mandatory religious obligation," he says.

So much for the "no incitement" condition of the latest so-called truce.
