Jul 28 15:44 UTC 2003 |
hello all.
im a total newbie to this system so i hope i'm not doing anything wrong(like
posting to the wrong conference)
it looks (and sounds) like this system is what internet communication was
meant to be (before the commercialzation).
that's it for now.

Hi Cemu, welcome to Grex. Yes, we are very old-fashioned here at times;
I often refer to Grex as "The Living Computer Museum."

Yeah, it is amazing that we can type at all...what with the arthritis
and all. I think grex should change its name to "geezernet"

Now, what precisely are the symptoms of geezerness that lead you to
that conclusion?

Welcome, cemu.
I don't know that most people here have gray hair, but it does
seem to me that Grexers' average age is creeping up. There are
a number of folks here who started out on Grex when they were
in high school and stuck with it as they moved into adulthood.
But I don't see new highschoolers coming aboard in comparable
numbers -- I can think of only a couple who are at all active.

(Actually, I was thinking of two US highschoolers, but you're
right, add two more to the list from our neighbor to the north.)

Gray hair is not necessarily a symptom of geezerness.

You must have a different definition of geezer, rcurl. Anyone over 30
with gray hair is a geezer. ;)

Cem is probably Turkish. I wish I could remember some words other than the
numbers 1-10.

It's not wise to upset a twenex ;-P
