stream of conciousness rules over all other forms of writing except poetry which is cool because there are some pretty cool poets but there are some bad ones too there's good and bad in everything just like paul mccartney says in ebony and ivory

try *this* for stream of conciousness writing
wrote it in a single sitting,
then came back and made a poem of it
as i stop to think and watch time sweep by like a
swift broom across the cobwebs of the mind and
such spiders that live in those cobwebs
come out and scurry about
hurry about
worry about
and stall for time sweeps by like a broom
and i wonder maybe what would i do better next time around
a circle can turn forever but we only turn once more
like a spiral you spin for a while
but when you hit the end
youUre at the end and you fall off and into nothingness
nothing like stopping to think to clear the olU brain out says he
and i agree
so i says to him iUd take my time
slow down enjoy the ride and maybe
smell the flowers along the way and he says
but all the flowers have bees
and the ride is rickety and slow iUd run faster and go farther while i can
but youUd just hit the end of your spiral sooner says me
and pooh says he
i could run forever but sooner or later i know
his spiral ran out i could see it spin
i can see your spiral says me i can see it spin if i look
and itUs about to end i donUt care says he iUll run forever
or at least iUll try
and thatUs when he died
so i stop to think and wonder and watch
my spiral go through itUs last few turns
i stopped to smell the roses
and enjoy the ride
and i ran out anyway
and the spiders and the broom come to mind one last time
the broom will make another pass
the spiral another spin
and the gates are let down, and the world let in
so says me,
and sure enough it came true
the gates came down the world came through and that was that
so hiding from reality
the spiral that we all can see
the spiral that we try to flee
we spin our last and set us free
the broom will make another pass
the spiral another spin
and the gates are let down;
and the world comes in
sorry 'bout those U's, they should be apostrophes
