Two poems I wrote when I was 15 Mark Unseen   Nov 13 20:57 UTC 1991

                         BUYING A CAT

                     madame beatrice
                     creatrice des chats
                     all varieties
                     tout les couleurs
                     checks, plaids, even houndstooth
                     i'll take that one:
                     paisleys.
                     englishman's patches on the elbows
and chartreuse for the eyes, please.
                     That will be extra, monsieur!
                     D'accord, ma'amselle, no expense spared.
four extra toes with purchase over 50 francs.

                         EPILOGUE

                     young girl frances
                     too old for young
missed a lot along the way.
still had more - singing heart,
                     starry eyes, mickey rooney.
                     need what more?
                     forever, no?

time is money, they always said.
low on cash, her soul pled:
Let's not save the best for last.

                     the grave, two share it
                     bright eyes and bitterness.
                     soul visits every sunday
                     garland of roses
                     need what more?
                     forever, no?

I like those. The first reminds me of Marianne Moore, than
whom you could do much much worse. The second is plain good.
Good.
