Writer's Submission Tracker Mark Unseen   Jun 23 07:50 UTC 1996

I hate to advertise here, especially my own product, but my principal
backer has failed to be of any help, so...

                        WRITER'S SUBMISSION TRAKER

                                     by
                        ###Sinister Software Solutions###
This is program designed to keep track of submissions, and I need
        pople
to beta-test it, so I am willing to give away copies for free, if you can
send a SASE to my home address. (Currently, since I am unemployed, a disk
would be appreciated, too, vbut is not necessary, since I plan on this being a
temporary condition (and not throught this, believe me.)
If interestesd, send an enelope with SASE enclosed to
                        Sinister Software Solutions
                        c/o Shawn Landis
                        1027 Hepbrun St.
                        Milton, PA
                                    17847

By the way, if you have a printer that can print that DOS character
codes, and can type Alt-176, Alt-177, and Alt-178 in front of my name and
Alt-178, Alt-177, and Alt-176 behind the 'Solutions'. (The company name
not my personal name.) Please do so, since it is our logo. (It is an
unofficial trademark, and I believe the same rules apply to these as
copyrights.
Also, the name, although therre is no graphic of The Sinister Porpoise
also belongs to me.)
I'd appreciate it if anyone wants th ehlp a beginning programmer, as
well as a writer, out. I have tried to give this program to some of you
before, but failed in the attempt.
                                        Thank you,
                                        Shawn M. Landis

Trademarks and copyrights certainly don't work the same way,
although the registration may work the same... not a safe assumption,
though, they're two completely differenct offices (copyrights are
through the Copyright Office, while patents are through the
Patents and Trademarks Office... er, trademarks are through there, rather,
but then, sop are patents, that just wasn't what I meant, erm, oh,
piffle, nevermind, you know what I mean).

I know what you mean, my software is protected, my trademarks are not
(at least not in the same way), fortunately, no one is likely to steal such
a devious name as Sinister Software Solutions, nor are they likely to use
The Sinister Porpoise.
I continue to work on the program, so feel free to snail-mail me for a
copy, even if it isn't workig quite the way I expect. Of course, no
program does, by definition, a program without bugs is obsolete.
