I'll start, (as it is only fair) I'm going to Panama City Beach FL. 
Anysuggestions on what not to miss..?

Anyone heading south this summer..?
If you are heading toward Myrtel Beach  SC you have to go to the Pavilion (a
little amusement park) and check out Mother Flecthers and the Spanish Gallion
(both clubs) and if you are there you can't miss the strip at night =).
A great place to eat is Bennagins (dont' think i spelled it right) and Dick's
last Resort at Barefoot Landing.

If you plan to drive anywhere via GA... I'd suggest you get GAs there...Erik
and I found out that it is cheep in GA and not in the borderign states...

I'd *love* to go to Stratford, it sounds like so much fun.
We're going to spend a 4-day weekend on Michael's parents' baot, starting from
Charlevoix.  Anyone know that area and want to make suggestions about route,
and an inexpensive place to stay if the wee one can't cope with the boat?

In August, we're going to Pennsic- a medieval campout for about 10 days, in
western PA.  My 13th or so year.

I expect we'll overnight on the boat Sunday and probably Monday, but we'll
arrive a bit late on Saturday night to catch M's folks, and the kids will need
some time and room to uncramp after the drive.  Econolodge?

A couple weeks ago, one of my brothers and his family flew from Michigan to
Myrtle Beach, SC.  I met them there [I drove from Durham, NC] and we spent
5 sun and sand filled days...

After I get settled in my new place, I do hope to get in some more camping
trips, too... [Which reminds me, I went on my first camping trip of the year,
too--out on the coast].  I'd love to go up in the mountains sometime, too.

lesse vacation... i went to chicago (or la grange park) to go to my cousin's
graduation party almost 3 weeks ago... went up to my family's cottage near
grayling/mancelona for the 3,4,5 and 6th.  i don't think there will be any
big vacation's this summer (won't hear crying from me), i'd like to make a
few day trips tho... mainly to lake michigan and a day trip canoeing up
north... possibly on the pine, boardman, or jordan rivers..

Uh.. here's where I go:

I go to a secluded cabin in the woods, no roads, no electricity, no
telephones, and the cell tower they got there a few years ago goes down
quite a bit, so cell phones don't even work all the time up there.. Last
year my nationwide pager didn't work there, not like I could have done
anything if it did, but i brought it along more for the sheer humor of
having it there... needless to say, to get to it, you first fly into the
bangor, maine international airport.. now.. most intl airports you'd
think would be pretty large, but it's not.. once you're there, you drive
about 30 mins out to east holden, me, then call the folks at the
clubhouse and tell them you'll be down at the "landing" in about 30
mins.. then you drive down this long and winding dirt road, it's about 5
miles long, but trust me, you need the time to make it down it :)
Once you get a few miles down the road, you unlock this big metal chain
from the road, then drive past and relock it.. you eventually get to the
"landing", park your car, and take the boat the mile down the lake to
where your cabin is..

The place has a propane fridge, and propane lights, and that's about
it.. you've got your indoor plumming, with a big water tank that you run
a pump to fill up.

They go shopping and bring in the mail every Monday, Wed and Friday, but
other than that, you've got to either row, sail or canoe out to get
anywhere..  Oh, and you folks who think that motorized boats would be
cool here, you should know that they're not allowed at all, so don't
bother.  Sound nice?  I think so.

  When I was growing up in Muskegon (which has, I think, two "gates"
  (actually doors onto the tarmac..) at Muskegon International Airport)
  the local rumor was that the airport earned the "International" part
  of its name when a Canada goose inadvertantly landed on one of the
  runways..

  Sounds like a great spot for a vacation indeed..  This summer I'll be
  driving out to Seattle for a while to visit my sister and will visit
  some great places (for example, Yellowstone) along the way..

My interpretation of small "International" airports is that it probably means
they have one flight a day to Canada.
