        Strange Magazine is now on the Web!!  I'm not really sure how long it
has been there but it wasn't around the last time I looked for it.  

        For those of you who don't know what Strange Magazine is <gasp!>, it
is a twice a year publication all about everything in the paranormal arena.
They cover everything from Ancient Astronauts to Zombies.  Well worth a good
look or two.  I have a few issues that I managed to find at various bookstores
and such and have read them a number of times.  The only trouble is that it
doesn't seem to be carried on a regular basis by any bookstore or news stand
that I've found.. and of course I'm too lazy to get a subscription.  No idea
yet on how often the web site is updated (at least once a month I would hope)
but as I plan to check every few days I'll let anyone who is interested know.

There's a GREAT x-files page that a student made at my school.. as far as I
know..mine and his are the most visited because of x-files and grex pics.

I think it is getting too easy for the conspiracy theory people to throw the
alien card out there real early. Historically it has been benifitial to the
secret people to let the locals think what ever they want, and then to feed
the rumors when it's easy. In ancient Japan there were people who thought that
Ninja were demons, or half demons or what ever. Well, if that would make it
less likely for people to come into the woods looking for them, or to strike
a little extra fear into them, then so much the better, so the ninja would
feed the ideas with a little pshycological warfare. they planted strange fake
footprints in common areas and all sorts of stuff to hype it up. 
I believe that it might be the same with things now. Lets go out on a limb
and say that we were all a bunch of guys trying to do something huge, but
secret. Well, there is no way that we could hide it from everyone, but maybe
if we could make them think it was something else, then we wouldn't need to
exactly hide it. What if I wanted to build an sr-71 or an f-117? am i going
to test fly the darn thing then say, oh yeah, the strange lights, well that's
the pusle jet engine of the new spy plane I'm building, or would I let a bunch
of people play up something as rediculous as alien stories? Tell you what,
you tell everyone about your new secret aircraft, and I'm going to deny the
work I'm doing on alein technology. Odds are that everyone will be trying to
find out about your spy plane and the darn thing will be on the evening news
all the time, and a few wierdoes will be out to take pictures of mine, and
everyone will make fun of them for it.

by the way, the SR-71 was built and assembled at the lockheed plant in Burbank
then smuggled out to the desert as an almost whole aircraft. can you imagine
building something that big and that secret in the middle of LA and then
getting away with denying it for 20 years?
