This is not a comma test, but rather a test to see how fast vi fires up
when I have edalways set. Not to bad response time... ('course there's
only two of us on at the moment...)

response 7 of 28: Mark Unseen   Jul 27 14:59 UTC 1991

Actually, the big problem with using "vi" with edalways is that it clears
your screen -- probably erasing the very response that you were going to
reply to. I have enough trouble making a coherent response with the text
I'm responding to in front of me; it's almost impossible if I have to try
to remember it.

Yeah, I've noticed you having that problem, Marc. ;-)

That's where scroll buffers come in handy.

re #7: I guess you would be happy to have the text in a windowed capture
buffer. I can switch back and forth between the online screen and the
capture window to see any previous text.

It's certainly one of the most ancient. Look at the dates
on the first few responses.

Is anybody on here now? Is this in real time?
remmers
response 21 of 28: Mark Unseen   Oct 19 09:50 UTC 1995

Nope, this is time-shifted communication. For real-time,
go to "party".

And for those who can't afford real time, you can get a tasteful plastic

Also known as a one-armed bandit after a recent mishap in the Jurassic.
