help!

Aug 14 07:49 UTC 1994 |
Being quite bad at interpretation, and seeing that
I can't find the tarot deck item, I was wondering
if someone could interpret from a deck that I have
I guess I'd just 'deal' out the cards and ask...
um, I guess i'll do them in a circular formation
with ... uh, how many cards should I use? Oh
great, now I can't find my deck... er..
um.

I personally like to plan my spreads out before dealing anything.
That said, I guess we can make this the Tarot discussion item.

Use ten cards in a circular fashion. Your deck is under the sofa. The cat has
eaten the Death card, so now you can never change. :-)

well, i don't have any runes, and haven't heard of anything else.
however, i do have my tarot handy, so...here we go. th cards were taken
off the top of the deck, and laid starting at the top and proceeding
clockwise. they ended up something like this.
seeker
prince pentacles four wands
(inverted)
prince wands four cups
(inverted) (inverted)
eight cups king wands
(inverted)
wheel of fortun ten wands
(inverted) (inverted)
eight pentacles
there it is. have at it.

My first impulse is that this concerns something mental. Other people
are going to help or distract you. I am no good at Tarot.
Anybody else?

Not mental, perhaps, but spiritual? Looking for a path, in need of better
balance/grounding, but a fairly clear idea of his own will. Needs to be mor
open to aspects of water: vision/intuition and emotional responses. Hm, why
would the 8 of pantacles be the anchoring/ opposite the person card?

Exactly what do you not get, jon?
I do other types of divination such as rune stones and
I Ching.

Dang, you showed us a reading which you wanted interpreted, right? Well,
Arwen gave you her imediate reaction- the general topic or scope or the
reading. Then I looked at the cards for relationships between them,
balances or things that seemed emphasized (which is what I do in any reading)
and read what made sense to me. The card at the bottom of the circle
seemed to be equivalent, in some ways, to the crossing card in the old
"Celtic cross" spread, that is both emphasizing and opposing the starting
(ah, "card" sigh.) The top card generally represents the person about whom
the reading is being done, or there current position. I think response
#10 was Arwen's input to my confusion about that card.
re: #13- I haven't made any sense of the I Ching, but I am learning to
use rune sticks (similar but different...), want to learn to use the
Ogham (see related item- might have been my notes from Etheracon), and
sometimes don't use any tool at all; just say what I "see".

I Ching is basically like asking your mother for advice.
Lengthy, in-depth and obscure as hell!

This is actually arwen using bach's log-in because I am too
lazy to log him off and log me on. I will enter a I Ching item
since it is the one I use the most. There Rob....aren't
you happy?

I suppose that means that I think that palmistry is valed
or valid I meant...I would like to interject here that many
people are out to make a buck. Do not let yourself get
trapped into a scenario where someone tells you that you
have a dark cloud hanging over you and for $XXX they can
remove it. It is an endless loop. Keep all three of your
eyes open!

I don't necessarily want to go for regular palm readings. It's just that a
friend and I were discussing it, and I knew this would be the prfect place to
open up an intelligent dialogue.
