Ok, I thought there was an item about this around here somewhere...but I
can't find it. So, where do *you* go for pagan resources and magickal tools?
Preferaably places around the Ann Arbor/ Ypsi area...

I just made a very surprising and delightful discovery! Beside the Brown
Jug on South University there's a used bookstore...don't remember what
the name is. Anyway, I happened in there on quite another errand today,
and as is my custom, stopped to look over the astrology books--and 'lo
what di I find nearby? Wax diety symbols, both human figure and the
labia and phallus symbols. The human figures are reasonably accurate
and complete, stand about a foot tall, and come in black, white, red and green.
They have a wick for use in candle magic and cost: a whopping $2.25 each!

Far out, eh?

That's the Dawn Treader. Nisi Shawl used to work there, she's a
local Yoruba practitioner. I bought a couple of my Tarot decks
there. Also, the Dawn Treader on Liberty Street has a good-sized
occult section.

There is place called Divination Web II that should be a goo cyber-pagan
resource once it's completed. It is a good real time discussion area right
now. (only open sometimes though) It's at bill.math.uconn.edu 9393

You also should *haunt* your used bookstores. Lots of folks dip
into the "occult" (ooooh) and dip back out. They dump their poor books
off and I have found many of mine there!

If you can find the address for it, there's this place in Florida called
Serpent's Occult. They deal in new and used occult books of all types; I
recently got a catalog from them and they have a great selection...
kami
response 18 of 57: Mark Unseen   Oct 27 17:55 UTC 1994

Well, if you got a catelog, doesn't that give you the address? It might be
worth writing to them to see about the books I'm missing (and some others
I wish I had), although they are more in the genre of Celtic Studies than
the occult. Where in Florida?

Have any of you tried your local public library? Surprisingly, ours has a lot
worth looking into. Via the state-wide loan program, I have found hundreds of
books on this subject. Good ones that you wouldn't think a library would want
to deal with. Give it a shot.
