The funny orange ball item Mark Unseen   May 2 05:17 UTC 1997

To stray a bit from the theme of the conference, I think we could say a
few words about that other sport that uses the funny orange ball. It looks
like the Pistons actually might make a decent showing this year.

Who cares?
(from a non-basketball fan, obviously)

Not to jinx them or anything, but the Pistons have the potential to blow
the season come Sunday. One can only hope for a small miracle. <evil grin>

Sorry to burst everyone's bubble, but as well as the Pistons have been
playing, they lost by 5 point in game 5 at Atlanta to get eliminated in the
first round again, 3 games to 2. It was a back and forth game, from what I
could catch during breaks in the Wings game. ;-) Grant Hill had a tough
game, and had several of his shots blocked.

Anyone know if Collins will be back again? Seems a shame if we lose him,
since he is one of the best and the Pistons look like they are on an upward
movement.

We can discuss this while the Wings beat the tar out of the Ducks.

Collins will be back for at least 2 more yrs. Maybe we might get closer
before blowing it.

Meanwhile, in Utah, the Jazz blew it bigtime. Bulls will win, again. <sigh>

And all this even though Michael Jordan had a case of the stomach flu or food
poisoning or something like that there.

And MJ the MVP. Hasn't it gotten *old* yet? Good grief.

Yeah, it's so old & boring that the Chicago fans want it to go on year after
year after year... :-)
