Hockey trivia.. help? Mark Unseen   Dec 22 06:03 UTC 2005

Me and a friend are working on this trivia question, we can't seem to find
an answer for:

During Edmonton Oiler hockey games, fans are allowed to do something during
intermission that fans at other arenas can't. What is it and why are they
allowed to do it?

Plug their engine block heaters into the arena power supply?

I can't think what it might be. One would naturally think it would have
something to do with the ice surface - but what?

I might suggest trying to pose the question on one of the on-line fan forums.

Actually, given the weather there, I wouldn't be surprised if they
were the only fans allowed to leave the rink during intermission to
warm up their car engines :-) Then again, surely rinks in places
like Minnesota would allow their fans to do the same thing.

Nope, just unfamiliarity (sp). Interesting nickname. What league are they
in, and who are their opponents?

I have seen several Fort Worth Brahmas and Austin Ice Bats games.. that and
the Houston Aeros was all that helped me survive the terrible lockout.
