Last chance to see the Whalers
|
May 14 20:51 UTC 2001 |
If you're a hockey fan in the SE Michigan area, you might want to check
out the Plymouth Whalers. They play at the Compuware Sports Arena in
Plymouth, about a 30 min drive down M-14 from Ann Arbor. They're in the
OHL Finals (The OHL is a Major-Junior hockey league, a good number of
people go on to play in the NHL, however none go on to play college
hockey as the NCAA does not consider it to be an amature league. All
the rules are the same as in the NHL, with one difference - all the
players and refs must wear a visor (half-shield) on their helmet). The
Whalers are playing the Ottawa 67's. Right now, the series is 3-2 in
favor of Ottawa. Game 6 is Tuesday in Ottawa, and game 7 (hopefully it
will be necessary) will be Wednesday Evening in Plymouth. See the
Whalers webpage, http://www.plymouthwhalers.com for details about how to
order (well "reserve" actually .. you won't be charged until they know
for sure that there will be a game 7) tickets. Tickets are much cheaper
than Wings tickets, and it's probably your last chance to see live
hockey before the summer.
(note: I am not affiliated with the Whalers, the OHL, or the Compuware
Sports Arena, just a hockey fan trying to let more people know of this
event)
